Man shoots down drone peeping on his daughters - Arrested / Charged

Father who shot down drone hovering over his house as his daughters sunbathed is arrested and charged - sparking new privacy debate.

• Another neighbor has told how it was hovering over her 16-year-old daughter too 
• The owner of the drone claims he was only trying to take pictures of a friend's house

Mr Merideth said: 'Within a minute or so, here it came. It was hovering over top of my property, and I shot it out of the sky. I didn't shoot across the road, I didn't shoot across my neighbor's fences, I shot directly into the air.'

Four men were about to confront him after the drone was shot out of the sky, but he says they soon changed their minds when they saw his firearms. 

'I had my Glock on me and they started toward me and I told them, "If you cross my sidewalk, there's gonna be another shooting,"' Mr. Merideth told the station.

The police arrested him soon afterwards.

Sure as "shooting"  . . . yep it's the guy who shot down down the drone spying on teenage girls who's at Fault !!! I hope they track down the weasel flying that drone -  time to take out the trash !!!!

With a million or so of start up money one could bring a highly directional and powerful electromagnetic emitter to market - like some cops and repo men use to fry computerized ignitions and stop cars - that would fry the brains and communication links on the drones.  Cool if mounted on, say, an M-79's wooden stock.  No worries on gun law violations:  no projectile = not a gun.  Might get some bs from the FCC, but the drone in charge there has no brain at all, so no worries there, either.  Priced right, one might sell many, many units.
