Good morning and Happy Wednesday all!

Not much happening in the news lately, and pretty much all of

my contacts in Iraq have gone silent this past week... which

tells me we're not going to see any activity during Ramadan,

much like past years.

In fact, it's been a little quiet in the past month as well, which

is kind of a bummer - Abadi came in with a bang, got people

motivated to work together and make some progress, and

they did! Iraq was on a downhill scream for the first few months,

and then... silence.

It's my suspicion that everyone is resting up, and we'll see more

positive progress after Ramadan.

One interesting "note": http://goo.gl/0ll1J4

Just a short while ago, they were talking about the possibility

of 50k+ notes by the end of the year, but that talk fizzled pretty

quick. Now there's this article about smaller notes!

It just goes to show that the articles they pump out don't mean

a thing. When they are ready to make a significant change, it

won't be preempted by relevant news articles. The exact

opposite is true! They aren't going to give any more clues than

they absolutely have to, if that... so I'll just hang on to what I

have, stay prepared, and enjoy the nice weather while Iraq

takes a few weeks off.

Here's the weekly Q's!

phlip On a previous DV post:
(/ ) you said:

“Fractional banking, Fiat Currency, and Greed is all that Iraq needs to make an RV possible”.

1st question that comes to my mind is: Are you sure the CBI is engaging in or even allowing fractional banking within Iraq; since Islamic Laws require 100% honesty in all financial matters?

2nd question: Who’s Greed are you referring to? Speculator Greed? CBI Greed? GOI Greed? For example, if it is Speculator Greed, how does simply wanting a huge RV to happen affect the CBI’s declaration of a fiat exchange rate on their currency?

1. Are you accusing Iraq of being honest, acting with integrity, and honoring Laws? :lmao:;)

2. Certainly not the greed of us speculators! We're nothing more than a gnat on their shoulder.

As much as we stand to gain, the PTB in Iraq stand to gain much, much more. :twocents:

homerunhit We keep seeing from others that Iraq has to make some "economic reforms" in order to improve their situation. They hint that revaluation of the dinar is the key to "economic reforms". Is it really a key for Iraq to revalue the dinar to improve their economic situation and if not, how does Iraq plan on improving their economic lot and gain outside investment in the country's future?

That's a good question! It is not entirely necessary for them to revalue to improve their

economic situation, but it's certainly the most aggressive and fastest way to do it.

Stubby 1 What is your opinion on getting the Illusive HCL passed this year ?  Yes,No,Maybe,Or

4 months ago I would have said "ABSOLUTELY". Now I have to back up and say "Let's

see what happens after Ramadan" - the month of August will tell us what to expect from

Iraq in the short term.

:twocents:

skeetdog Whatzup Buzzy...There's three things that seem to have a baring on our outcome that I'd appreciate your insight on; First the HCA...(which I think is the HCL)...Second Article 8- The GOI gave the CBI the right to finance the private sector and now has approved 1 Trillion dinars to back it....and Lastly the credit-rating and what magnitude of avenues this will open up for Iraq....I would appreciate your elaboration on what you think of these three pending issues and what their bearings are on where Iraq is now and where it stands with an HCL, Article 8 compliant and a Credit-Rating.....as for the rating I went Thanks for a ''AA'' what's your take....
 ............................................Mods yall ''Rule''...''Thanks'' Buzzy.............................................

HCA is an Agreement, HCL is Law - we want the Law. This has been the most important

step for quite some time, and it still is.

1 Trillion is a lot when we're hoping they increase the value of their dinar... the good

news is they don't have to use the entire amount. A .10 RV could actually eliminate the

need to use most of that amount. This is one reason why I've never really worried about

article 8 - it's just not that important.

Credit Rating - we're still waiting for this news, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it take

another 3-6 months. Either way, the credit rating is not going to affect what the CBI does.

It's good to see Iraq taking that step, but again - not a major issue for us.

pocono  Adam,  Iraq had an 'International' Bond offering in 2006,denominated in USD and apparently successful. What makes this upcoming one, also International and denominated in USD any more significant than the 1st one if at all?The Kurds have announced a similar venture,to be promoted in London and independent of Baghdad..

Do you find this problematic or simply sabre rattling.

Delete the zeros...Not asking whether you think they'll ever do it but would like to know what you think it means..Redenomination as in LOP or the creative moving of decimal points?

Bond offering - this isn't something I've been excited about. I'm not upset about it, either. It's

just SOP and a revalued currency would be applied as simple math.

Delete the zeros - could go either way. Doesn't matter, and we won't know

until they do it.

I talk about this at least once a month, and I also discussed it in depth in my

book "RV Intel" - VIPs can get it for free here: http://iqd.me/l/rvintel

=======================================================

FYI everyone, you already know my stance on Ramadan - I don't see

anything major happening until it's over.

With that said, there will be no Q&A next week. I'm going to take some time

to be with family and wrap up a couple of personal business projects I'm working

on.

I'll be keeping up with the news, so if anything big happens, I'll definitely pop

in!

And of course I'll be keeping up in the VIP section, so no change there.

I'll see you here in the chat section in a couple weeks.

:tiphat:

(Let the backlash begin! )

Adam - You leaving is great news!  Let's hope Murphy's Law comes into play and they RV while you're away - seems like that happens a lot.  You on vacation is as good a reason for Iraq to RV as any and at least now the gurufools out there can have another excuse for calling it again.  Have a great time wherever you are.....

Thanks Adam, We are doing the same as you, hanging onto what we have, being patient and seeing how this plays out.  We didn't spend more than we could afford to lose, have decent jobs and a roof over our heads, what more could we ask for?   An RV would be awesome but not a necessary part of our happiness.  Have a great holiday, I will be undergoing shoulder surgery so laying low for the holidays, my sweet husband will be nursing me back to health, poor thing.

Hey Adam.  I'll be happy to come by and keep you entertained with an updated statistical comparison chart between Mr. Discount Double Check in the sickly Green uniform namely Mr. Aaron Rodgers and the Spiritually uplifting Patriot in America's Red White and Blue, Yes, the Deflator, Mr. Tom Brady.  I'm sure Aaron makes a great sandwich but wouldn't you really rather spend some quality time with Tom just so you could get to know him better?  Who knows, maybe he already is one of your clients.  Maybe I could make that connection for you Mr. Montana.  You just say the word and I will put all my efforts into making that happen.  Either way, enjoy your family time.  That's what is ultimately most important.

To the condiments on your sandwich; ie Best Wishes
