I have a book somewhere in my library, published in 1950, by an MD that outlines the dangers of sugar.

And today, most sugar is made of GMO sugar beets! - not sugar cane.

And most processed foods today are full of high fructose corn syrup. Not used by the body as fuel, but metabolized differently and goes directly to liver and is deposited on ones belly as Belly Fat. But more than that, it acts on the liver like alcohol and does the same damage as alcohol.

And worse.....we are all addicted.

It takes education and a conscious choice to stop eating sugar.

But also a choice to look at the labels and refrain from all the processed foods that is converted to sugar quickly.

The food manufactures have converted the USA into a nation of fatties.

MIllieChatham - was it (book) called Sugar Blues by William Duffy? It compared as I recall - been a lonnnnnnnnnng time ago since read it, that he compared sugar to cocaine basically in chemical composition and addiction. Also, book was too long and I could have stated the facts in 10 pages over 350 or so pages. Yet some interesting facts in it at that time.

High fructose corn syrup does the same thing to your liver as alcohol. Anybody read Grain Brain and the second book, Brain Maker, by

David Purlmuter. He is a neurologist and has all the scientific citations and studies. He calls dementia and Alzheimer's Diabetes 3. And he links a whole host of diseases to chemical.changes in the brain caused by what we put in our mouthes and the effect that what we eat decomposes into the intestinal flora in our guts! Bluntly, we have bugs (bacteria) that can harm or help us and the key is to get the good ones.

So, choose wisely when you choose your food. Make sure it isn't processed, GMO, filled with sugar or artificial sweeteners, and as much as possible organic.
