Breitling Update

Breitling, who knows investments and is far above the "gurus" in the dinar community says that, with the CBI withdrawing the 50 dinar notes, they are basically saying that they will float the value of the dinar up from where it is now.  They are saying the value in these notes is so low that they're not worth having - not now or in the near future.  One the positive side, Breitling did say they could start with a small bump of 5 to 10 cents and that they could do it at any time - starting now..

That is not the way I read the articles that came out surrounding this issue. They are getting rid of the old notes and replacing them with new ones that have security features. At the end of April we could see all the new notes, just a thought.

I had also hoped that the CBIs removal of the more easily counterfeited 50 dinar notes might be so that they can replace them with new, not easily counterfeited notes, but Breitling does address that in his audio and says that's not the case.....

Why not all the other lower denom notes & not just the 50 note? Makes no sense.

You mean the other higher denom notes? There are no other lower denom notes. The 50 is/was the smallest they have, and the reason, as far as I can tell, is it was the only one of the current series that did not get re-printed, with better security features, last year.

The lower notes. Many are worthless, worn out & damaged. The higher notes are in better shape even though they have better security features. CBI has hoarded un-circulated lower denoms & released some recently. These are the same 2003 Notes we are invested in.

About mid year last year CBI issued IQD 500 notes they were hoarding. How many other lower denom notes are hoarded waiting to be issued. It seem like the IQD was way over printed.

I agree, it makes no sense! If the plan is to increase the value - why drop the lowest denomination? :(

1st, it is not used in daily transactions. (think pennies; they round up to nickels)

2nd, it has less security features then the 25,000's

3rd, they need to reduce the "note count" (I personally agree with Breitling on this one)

4th, they need to do a toe in the water on a Re-evaluation

5th, it is smaller in size than the 25,000's and doesn't go through the de la rue machines

6th, I said last summer to myself "I wan't something to happen, I don't care what, just make a change."

Maliki made no progress in 8 years. Abadi is trying to make changes. The CBI is finally doing something.

7th, i have no proof, but ISIS is known for bank robberies and maybe what they got was 50's

There are options. contact the dealer of your choice and change them to 25k and wait a couple of months. Then we will know how it will be to do the real cash in.

Nothing but good news here.

Here's the deal.

At the end of 2013 there were 9.191 Billion Dinar in 50's issued (184 Million Notes).  Of that 9.191 Billion, only 801 Million was in Banks; 800 Million of that 801 Million was in State Owned Banks, 55 Million was in the Rafidain Bank, 744 Million was in Rasheed Bank, and 1 Million was in the Agricultural Coop Bank and the remaining 1 Million was in the Bank of Baghdad.

To me, this was a no brainer for the CBI. If you look at the table below, you will see it too.  The CBI exchanges the 801 Million Dinar with those 4 Banks, the remaining 8.39 Billion is outside of the banks (about $7 Million (US))  may or may not be turned in.  That's free money, that gets removed from the CBI's liability and is added to their equity.  It is also a test run for the withdrawal of the other denoms.

Haven't done the calculation yet Mark but they are for sell.  Are you interested?  LOL

Sure, I don't have any 50's, I'll take one.

And I have about 100 of the 50 dinar notes. All crisp and new.     :(

If the U.S. Treasury knew anything about this I would then take this more seriously. IMO to suggest this takes place only in a foreign language that the English CBI has no record of ~ certainly strains credibility.

Breitling told us to buy the 50s in the first place!!

Now they are really worthless

They do make good paper airplanes though

Been throwing them out the window for days now

I sure hope I don't have to make larger planes ever!

Well at least, to Breitling's credit, he walks his talk.  He has said recently that he himself owns a huge number of 50 dinar notes so he's also scrambling to find a way to turn them in quickly.  And btw, there is a post by someone (in the Buying & Selling Dinar forum) stating that xchangeofamerica.com will let you trade in your 50 dinar notes for whatever other denomination of notes you want - at no charge.  But this note's current value is only some 4 cents each, so unless you own a lot of them, it's probably not worth it.....fyi
