He said Mohammed told the "morning" that Directorates Customs at the border ports play a major economic role through its work to save Iraqi money from smuggling, as well as it aims to adjust the entry of goods into the country and out of them. 

Iraq has a number of represented the border crossing points with four directorates (Customs northern region and customs western region and Customs area South and Customs Central Region), including airports and seaports. 

He pointed out the importance of supporting the national economy by applying the provisions of the Customs laws and law and other relevant goods and passenger transportation agreements in customs ports of the state (land, sea and air), taking care to provide excellent services for importers and exporters and facilitate trade and encourage investment in Alarac.obin Mohammed role of the Economic and Social customs by preventing the entry of fake and counterfeit goods or infringing standard specifications to ensure the protection of the consumer. Referring to facilitate export procedures and open markets for Iraqi products, as well as protect the national economy from threats related to dumping. He noted the need to protect national industries from competition and encouraged by imposing a relatively high fee on imports, which have counterparts in the National Industries , in addition to exempting devices, tools and spare parts and raw materials (which contribute to raising the efficiency of the national industries) from customs duties. He called to provide accurate statistics of trade as the only source of these statistics upon which many of the economic and political decisions.
