Popular Post Adam Montana
Good morning everyone! Budget being prepared based on 3.3 million b/d and $60 per barrel. I don't like the $60 per barrel price, BUT: Iraq exported 4 million b/d in December (http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/195019-iraq-back-from-the-brink-with-record-oil-figures/ ) and they are looking to increase their production... seeing as how Iraq has one of the largest reserves in the world, the HCL is sure to be completed very soon, the Kurds and Baghdad are playing nice (finally!!!), I believe the increased volume will easily make up for the lower price of oil and Iraq will have no problems with the budget as it is. It's also important to remember that Iraq has barely scratched the surface of their reserves. As we watch them progress, with more and more companies investing into their production, it will continue to rise and a lot of experts even believe that Iraq will overtake Saudi Arabia as the world's leading oil exporter... all that says to me is "COME ON, RV!!!" I won't pretend to know when they will actually make it official, but my gut feeling is that this week is a strong possibility, with a quick move after that to turn the HCA into the HCL, and then revalue the official rate on the dinar. When this happens, it's going to happen so fast our heads will spin! The only thing I'm actually worried about right now is if the CBI will peg it or float it. If they choose a float, my advisors are telling me the best play might be to take the first rate we get, because that could easily be the best rate we'll see for a long time. In other words, if it comes out at $1, it could quickly dip to a dime or less and then take years to rebound. I have no doubt that it would eventually come back, but that's not a fire I want to play with. Even if they don't float it, they can still adjust the rate down again with no warning, explanation, or apology. That's just my on how to handle the good news when it gets here. Now on to the questions! ladyGrace'sDaddy Good morning Adam Last week you said that what the Swiss did was proof that the CBI is the only one In control of the rate, and I tend to agree. But I was wondering, do you really think that the SNB actually surprised the IMF with that move? I think the SNB probably did surprise the IMF and I'm pretty sure they are going to regret doing it. Off-the-grid I'm wondering how an RV will help the Iraqi gov't when it is seriously strapped for cash? I'm thinking they would be better off waiting until they have a substantial surplus. Or will they ever have much of a surplus? It seems gov'ts never do, because they immediately find something else to spend it on - or just plain steal it. How about the previously stolen billions that have been recently located but not re-appropriated yet? Could they be waiting to RV first so all that cash can't be used up by the deficit? But, if that money is no longer in IQD, it would not be affected by an RV. Get it back, convert to IQD, then RV? Actually their government isn't as strapped for cash as it seems. If you were to compare their GDP and debt to the US's GDP and debt, you'll see that the US is actually far worse off, yet the dollar is worth far more and actually gained in 2014. Also, an influx of cash and wealth will boost the economy, create new opportunities for growth in other areas (manufacturing for one), and in fact.... the CBI is hinting about taking action to make that happen. Link: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/194990-the-central-bank-is-considering-taking-important-measures-to-promote-development-and-job-creation/ Regarding the stolen billions... I don't have an answer to that one right now, but you make a good point. matfra Since taxes will determine people's strategy: 1) Do you think we will know what taxes we are looking at when we exchange? & 2) If we don't know the taxes at that time, percentage wise, what do you think would be a prudent amount to ear mark to pay uncle Sam? Thanks for your time. 1. Nope, I don't believe we'll know that immediately. 2. A LOT. I don't trust the government (ANY government) to play fair with our money - they never do. BJinMontreal According to a Bloomberg piece this morning - Iraq is pumping over 4 million barrels of oil per day out of the ground and is on pace to set new records in the coming months for production. With Iraq's plan to export 3.3 million barrels of oil per day for the year, the extra 700,000 barrels would start to make a nice rv cushion of $28M per day for the Iraqis at $ 40 per barrel. I know that's not accounting for production costs but is that amount enough to sustain an rv/ri or is there a magic number where oil should be before Iraq can pull the trigger? I would also like to offer my condolences on the comeback of the Seahawks yesterday ... it was a great game to watch - hopefully the SuperBowl will be just as entertaining. I think that number is just fine, and it's even better knowing that they are not maxed out and plan to keep increasing production. Thanks for the condolences. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Patriots decide to cheat in the SuperBowl Candy01 The 2015 budget was SUPPOSED to be on Parliament's agenda this Wednesday, 1/21! Now it is NOT on there and they are saying the budget will be voted on within ANOTHER week! Do you think the budget has to be passed BEFORE the RV?! Thanks Much! There is no law or rule that says the budget must be passed before the CBI can make a change on how much it pays for the currency. ranger173 Greetings adam, hope all is well. My question is ( I know, it's been asked many times) I just saw a report about iraq rede nominating there currency. They said it was an ounce in june 14. Sorry to beat a dead horse but made me wonder how it will affect all of us who hold three zerodinars. Thx for your patience and all you do Yep, that one is dead! They've been throwing that idea (and the opposite) around in various articles and news releases for years... I don't see any new evidence to suggest that they will actually do it. wbuse984 Adam...is it possible or likely the Dinar could come out on the FOREX as at tradeable currency at 1166 (or close to that) and simply be managed, or is it really necessary for it to RV/RI before going international. Can the CBI RV/RI and it not be internationally tradeable on the FOREX? Just curious after reading some interesting and in some cases highly entertaining threads...lol...sorry about your Packers bro ...did not see that coming...jeez... Either way is possible. And I will like it either way. Charlie Echo Given the Swiss National Bank's decision to un-peg from the Euro to allow Hungarian and Polish Swiss-Franc-denominated mortgage holders to be bailed out, and the value of currencies all over the world going down, is it possible the world is devaluing to the point where the IQD will become, from a trade position, worth more sooner than it would if the Iraq Gov't were to make adjustments themselves. Possible IQD becomes worth more and never moves because of the devalue of all other currencies? I see your point but that's pretty extreme - I believe that's exactly how it will work, but on a much smaller scale so that we will indeed realize true profits on it. ============================================== That's it for today everyone! Sorry I didn't bring "the announcement", but that doesn't mean I won't pop back in tonight or tomorrow with it. Fingers crossed for some good news soon!

BJinMontreal
Good morning everyone! Budget being prepared based on 3.3 million b/d and $60 per barrel. ... Thanks for the condolences. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Patriots decide to cheat in the SuperBowl ... LOL - yes sir! Never been much of a New England fan ... and that includes hockey (Bruins) and baseball (Red Sox). But I'm hopeful Wilson and the rest of the Seahawks can keep Brady's ego and the Patriots in check. There's nothing quite like watching him sulk on the sidelines after yet another Super Bowl loss!!! Thanks for the update - keep up the great work!!! 7
Wiljor
Good morning Adam, I dont think Iraq is to concerned about the price of oil for 2 reasons, 1 they will just increase output (which they are doing) 2 oil will eventually creep back up to the 70-80 dollar range. I like your continued upbeat feeling about our goal and agree that as each day passes we get closer to the end of the road. It's tough not to get all hyped up about what's happening here but, one day at a time. Very much appreciated sir

Caye98
THANKS ADAM! IF the CBI rv's at 1:1 (even for a short time) it'll float my boat just fine! Unless you have strong reasons not to unload all of these IQD that have been waiting to be redeemed they can have them ALL back at 1:1! I agree, 3.3M barrels of oil at $60, and Iraq producing 4M+, even at $50/barrel they are good to meet their budget. I don't believe oil will be below $50/barrel too long, and certainly by the 3rd quarter of 2015 (probably much sooner) well above $60/barrel (and all the while producing 20% more oil than the budget is based upon). Good news for Iraq (not so much for my fossil fuel burning engines).
Perspective2011
What would cause a fast drastic dip from say $1 to .10 if that were the case and years to rebound? Although I am VERY happy if we see $1 and will gladly take it! Edited January 21, 2015 by Perspective2011

Mrs. Silence Dogood
I was very surprised to read that AM thinks that this is a good week for it to RV. Never heard him talk like this before. I am not convinced that the budget is a hold up. I think it is great that they are getting it done but IMO it is not needed to be set in stone for them to push the button.

DWitte
Low blow Adam. Did you think I would miss that? All I've ever seen so far is that the NFL took one ball to weigh. Never heard the results yet. And as a true sportsman I would have liked to see the Packers make it. We'll have to find something else to wager on. You can name the amount next time. I'm sure it was a hard game to watch. I'm nervous about which Pats team will show in the SB. Good Day. DW

DWitte
Update--------Just read that 11 of 12 Patriot footballs were under inflated by 2 lbs. Definitely not cool, but Colts used same balls too and it wasn't Luck who first noticed the problem. Kinda weird. Saw Dan Marino on a show this am and he said he couldn't hardly tell the difference. Not justifying it by any means just trying to put out some facts. Now we have to find out how they got deflated. That should be interesting. The head Ref for the game inspects all the balls before the game. I may be a Pats fan but if there is something to this then there should be disciplinary action taken. It;s the right and fair thing to do. The worls will not end over this. haha DW
sadman
Not a Pat's fan but one simple question is that if the league checked and found 11 of 12 balls under inflated my question would be, didn't both teams play with the same 11 under inflated balls ???
amal
I believe each team has 12 balls so the colts did not use these on offense. The only reason they knew is they intercepted the patriots and noticed the ball was underinflated.
