Peshmerga forces secure Mosul Dam

 

Khandan - embraced the city of Arbil yesterday's joint meeting of the Ministers of financial resources and power in the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government headed by Rose Nuri Shaways, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister, and the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Peshmerga, the meeting discussed all the necessary steps to be taken to rehabilitate the Mosul Dam after its liberation and fully locked by Peshmerga forces during the past months.
 
Said Minister of Electricity Federal, Qassim al-Fahdawi, in a press conference after the meeting «was agreed on all outstanding points between the two sides in the field of electricity during the coordination meeting we had with the ministries of electricity and water resources in the region and the Peshmerga forces, and coordination would be better to improve the electrical services in all areas in which the federal and provincial government activities there ».
 
For his part, Minister of financial resources in the federal government, Mohsen al-Shammari, told the «Middle East», that «the meeting was technically and security, which decided to form a joint committee of all parties participating in the meeting, for the rehabilitation of the dam, and now there is a problem is the failure the gates of the dam, where he stopped one of them because of their vulnerability to sabotage, and the second I stopped because of the hydroelectric station stops, and thus affected here is the President of the Tigris basin and water supply of the Mosul Dam ».Shammari added that «Peshmerga accompany committees electricity competent to handle the holidays, as well as securing the dam is full, to enter the company, which will fix the gates Atlten», pointing out that the dam has become a believer, but there is a problem in the nearby area.
 
Peshmerga forces and recaptured on 17 August last year to control the Mosul Dam strategic support from the flight international coalition, and is trying to organize Daash between two and another attack on the dam, but the Peshmerga succeeded in thwarting every organization attacks to take control of the dam so far, and confirms that it has secured the entire region.

In turn, Ghazwan Hamid, a member of the Nineveh provincial council, said in a statement to the «Middle East», «There are programs for the reconstruction of all the areas affected by the control (Daash) in the province of Nineveh, but did not discuss that process in the provincial council until now, we are waiting for the approval of the federal budget for Iraq, and then we will start our programs for reconstruction, and we have programs for the rehabilitation of strategic projects, where the dam is one of them, and now we do not receive any money from the federal government for the reconstruction of these areas.
