how can i fix the issue with all the unwanted gibberish that keeps popping up on my posts?

It could - try highlighting all of it and deleting - then type your post and see if it still pops up.

 

Have no idea where it is coming from but I'm pretty sure it is your computer that is causing the problem. No one else on DV has mentioned this problem.

It looks like the top 3 lines of your keyboard going left to right....

i tried deleting it and it showed up on the bottom portion of the post instead of on above.  thanks for trying.

What Operating System(version) and Internet Browser(version) are  you using?

When you copy a text from the internet, many of these symbols will attach to your copy.  You then bring it over into your post on DV.  One way to eliminate that problem is to copy and paste the material/article in Word.  Edit/delete the material you do not want, select the text again and then copy the material into DV.  Doing that should take care of the problem.  It is extra work, but you don't get all the trash from the original website.
