MillieChatham
We watched this last year. Excellent! We really are what we eat! Wish more would look closely at their diets and not depend on the medical profession to "cure" ailments that are brought on by eating processed sugary junk. Look at the medical profession in action. Fat doctors and fat nurses!
easterlily
I have seen this before. I am so glad the word is getting out about nutrition, organic whole food for healing. I have changed my diet based on the reports that are coming out about nutrition and health.
tankdude
The mitochondria are definitely key. They are the powerhouses of all cells - and regulate the homeostasis of the cells. This is in fact the key to cellular health - which is where ALL disorders or diseases start. Just Google "Oxidative Stress" and see how it relates to so many different things. Oxidative Stress is the cells being out of homeostasis.

tankdude
Gymrat and SnowGlobe - you both have a good start. Obesity put's stress on the body. Some salt is needed by the body - but the American diet is just so chocked full of it. Processed sugar is not something the body is used to - and again the American diet is so full of it. Hydration is very important. The new guidelines that are being put out is to take 1/2 of your body weight, and that is the number of ounces you should be drinking per day. If you wait until your thirsty, that's often too late. Most Americans are so unused to their thirst signal, they mistake it for hunger. Also - don't over do the antioxidants. Believe it or not, that can mess up your cellular balance. You actually need some oxidants in your system. They are part of the first line defense for disease. http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/187389-antioxidants-more-to-it-than-you-think/
