Australia: Our planes to join the international bombing campaign against (IS)

BAGHDAD / NINA / Australia announced today that its planes join the international bombing campaign against the Islamic State organization.

Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott said in a speech to parliament, "the final decision has not yet been taken that the Australian aircrafts join the international coalition aircraft to bomb the sites of the (IS)."

He added, "The Australian aircraft will begin, from today, flying over Iraq in support of the operations of the international coalition."

He continued: "conducting bombing by our planes requires an extra decision from our side in addition to the final approval of the Iraqi government."

The Australian Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop announced in a press statement on 28 of last month that "Australia is considering participating in the air strikes on the Islamic State in Iraq" ./ End
