US to Build Three Military Bases in Kurdistan Region
26.09.2014

BasNews, Erbil

Pentagon is planning to build three different military bases in Iraqi Kurdistan region in a near future.

According to Kurdish sources, Washington wants to build more military presence in the region in the wake of recent Islamic State (IS) militants against Kurdistan region in northern Iraq.

BasNews has learned through a close source from the matter, that United States to build three military bases in Erbil and around the Kurdistan Capital.

One of the Military bases would be in Erbil, another one would be in Hareer military base a town north of Erbil and the third one would be in Atrush a town close to Dohuk, near the Turkish border, according to BasNews sources.

The Atrush base would be used for Apache Helicopters, as it flown in and out from the base.

However, the source that spoke on condition of anonymity, that none of the US military bases would be located in or close to Sulaimaniyah the second largest city in Kurdistan region, and close to Iranian border, due to presence of Iranian army and soldiers in the city.

Earlier this week, Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby talked about the possibility of US military base in Iraqi Kurdistan in a near future.

‘I don’t want to mix Incirlik (US military base in Turkey) and Erbil. In Erbil, we have a mutual military operation center as US President Barack Obama revealed, where we have stationed drones and other weapons,’ said Kirby.

‘Erbil is important because it is close to the areas of northern Iraq that IS militants have controlled and wish to keep. For this reason Erbil is important. Since we decided to open military air bases in Erbil and Baghdad, their importance has become clearer day by day,” added Kirby.

Since the start of IS insurgent attacks against Iraqi Kurds, US warplanes has bombed the terrorist groups continually and Kurdish Peshmerga forces has been able to stop the Jihadi group advances.

Thanks DT...Started in ARIFJON in Kuwait, March 03'...was on the first push into Iraq to Anaconda (now JBB, Joint Base Balad) Sep 03', Al Asad, April 04'...A lot of these are FOB's that were constantly rotating names to counter intercepted messages...As far as response and reaction this would also serve as a watchful eye on Iran...

After I left in May of 05'...I was called back in Aug. 07' to JBB and stayed there till July 10'.....

Is the no US boots on the ground still the plan? Just wondering who's forces will man these 3 new bases is all.

They will be manned by US boots. We already have up to 20k there already. (For advisory purposes and training) lol Further a large number of US ships are parked off the coast. One I know for sure already has several Black hawk helicopters on board. Another has the F/A-18E/F Super Hornets scattered all over its deck. I'm sure that's for advisory purposes and training as well.

It will be a secret from the Americans

You will have to have inside sources to know about the new bases

As a matter of fact the us govt will lie on cable news denying it

But it's there just like the secret dinar revaluation that's always a secret too don't tell no one !!!!

Over and out

Sincerely

Jonny five oh

Ya can't prove me wrong either

There gonna do it when the time is right

They got to pass a bunch of laws first

And get new leaders

These leaders are the hold up

Next election will solve this whole mess someone made up in their mysterical misery

Dj,

We have had a sizable contingency force in the region for quite some time now. I remember your post a while back speaking about the ships. We have also been in Kuwait for a while now. It is as if we knew this day was coming............................ This is why I say the US has a strong hand of support on the back of the newly "prescribed" leadership.

Well the only thing that matters now is that they HAVE immunity.  Maliki would not give it.   He is such a LIAR.  He said he couldn't get the votes for it.

LIAR, LIAR, LIAR.   IT'S MORE LIKE HE THWARTED THE VOTES, playing games like his is now with Abadi's government.     That was so he could pull

all this garbage the last 4 years and set up his dictatorship.  He needed the US boys out of the way.  But he is so stupid, we never left.  Just our image

left.   Still there but so well blended.   Not to mention our help from the good folks...  So, our boots that "ARE" on the ground have immunity now that the freak is no longer PM.
