Twilight News / Cabinet agreed Tuesday to refer the Head Office of Financial Supervision Abdul Basit Turki into retirement.

altThe General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said in a statement that "the Council of Ministers decided during its regular day to approve the referral of Abdel Basset Turki head of the BSA on retirement for the end of his rule of law."

The statement noted that "assigning tasks Ali Mohsen Ismail's central bank governor and the agency."

The statement added that "the new government will take nominations for the posts of governor of the Central Bank and the Financial Inspection Office and according to the legal institutions and the mechanism set forth therein."

The Council of Ministers also decided to approve the cancellation of the decision of the Council of Ministers No. 371 for the year 2011 on obtaining official approvals for occupancy parties and political entities of the properties belonging to the state.

He attributed the reason to oppose it with the provisions of Article 26 of the law on the sale and lease of state property No. (21) for the year 2013.

The Cabinet decided last year to request the President Office of Financial Supervision Abdul Basit Turki management position of Governor of the Central Bank and the Agency.

BAGHDAD / obelisk: The Cabinet approved on Tuesday, the assignment of the President of the BSA Abdul Basit Turki into retirement, and to assign tasks Ali Mohsen Ismail's central bank governor and the agency.

War: Naming Keywords central bank governor came proxy needs to be approved by Parliament

Said legal expert Tareq Harb said the appointment Keywords central bank governor came by proxy and not permanent.

He said the war told ((eighth day)) that the Council of Ministers of the outgoing has the power to label those with special grades, but raise the names to the House of Representatives for approval, hence the relationship will be put his name in the Parliament for approval as governor of the Central Bank.

The Cabinet had unanimously approved the designation on the Keywords Secretary General of the Council of Ministers as governor of the Central Bank, succeeding Shabibi.

My take away is that the wheels of this Democratic-ish government are starting to move again. Sort of getting the rust off of them left behind by Maliki. I just hope they will continue on in this direction, get some synergy behind this new GOI. Hope they will be a GOI of the people, by the people, and for the people. Though they don't have to follow our methods, remember that it is customary for cabinet members and department heads to resign when a new administration transitions in. I hope it is no more than this that is going on.

This is a good thing! Turki has been in this position by proxy and does not have the Constitutional authority to pull the RV lever. This is the necessary house cleaning that needs to take place for Iraq to get everything in order for the proper change in the currency rate. The fact that this is coming up now as an issue for the new GOV is a good sign that they are thinking about getting the CBI up and running with a legitimate authority to pull the RV lever. I would not be surprised if Shabibi comes up as a possible appointee, but not until Maliki has been completely removed from the picture.

Wow Easy!!!  Great article.  Finally they are gonna fix that problem too.  Turki was never qualified and he also wore two hats.  You can't audit yourself, like our fed reserve wants to.  Joke huh.  You can't say only in America, cause this was maliki's GOI and takeover of CBI.   But, there are certain things he couldn't do and I bet this guy goes out with a big relief.  Not only to himself, but to us.  As for the RV, folks no one knows.  Turki could do it before he leaves, or the next guy will have to come in and check the books and stability of the CBI and economy etc etc, and then RV, or the next dude may find that the reserves have been depleted when maliki left.  Just scenarios, cause really anything could happen.   There is still the HCL and investments & other laws that maybe the GOI themselves would like to fix first.  I would think it would be wise especially HCL.   So many things that didn't ever get done for  8 years and now they are cramming.  Woo hoo.   Who knows.  I am just excited at all the good stuff coming out of there.  The tyrant gone and his proxies.

ALL OF THIS IS A REPEAT PERFORMANCE FROM THE COM AS WELL AS THE MEDIA..THIS SAME EXACT SCENARIO HAPPENED MONTHS AGO. THE PARLIAMENT HAS TO APPROVE THIS - MOHSEN IS MALIKI'S SECTY GENERAL OF THE COM - MALIKI TRIED THIS SAME MOVE THIS PAST YEAR (SINCE 2014 - IF I RECALL PROPERLY) -

 

THIS IS A MOOT POINT WITH THE FORTHCOMING FORMATION OF ABADI'S GOVT. MALIKI'S TRYING TO PULL A FAST ONE AGAIN.  HE'S STILL TECHNICALLY THE HEAD OF THE COM - SO HE CAN TRY ALL HE WANTS.  LIKE OTHERS HAVE SAID, WE HAVE TO WAIT THIS ONE OUT - BUT DOUBTFUL SINCE ABADI WILL HAVE THE GOVT FORMED IN A FEW DAYS, AND IF HE DOESN'T, MASSUM WILL NAME SOMEONE ELSE FROM THE PARLIAMENT TO BE PM DESIGNATE, AND IT WON'T BE MALIKI.  A DESPERATE, AND IMO, FUTILE ATTEMPT BY MALIKI TO STIR THE POT.
