Twilight News / Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Haider Abadi Friday expressed keenness to build strategic relations between the two countries is based on sound foundations and unify efforts to fight terrorism.

According to a statement to the Office of Abadi stated for "Twilight News", the Iraqi Prime Minister-designate congratulated Erdogan on his election as President of the Republic and thanked him for the call.

Abadi confirmed his "passion for the establishment of a strategic relationship between the two countries and unite efforts in the fight against terrorism," and expressed hope in building relations with Turkey is based on the foundations of a sound after presenting his government to the House of Representatives.

For his part, Erdogan stressed his concern that "to be his strong relations with Iraq exemplary in the region."

He stressed his country's standing with Iraq in the face of terrorism and the desire to see a united Iraq in which all the components coexist peacefully, and looked forward to eliminate terrorism in Iraq.

The Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, told Abadi, during a meeting in Baghdad, on Thursday, his country's readiness to open a new page in relations with Baghdad.
