Ukraine Crisis : Thriver reported Russian aid convoy is still on its own side of the border.  Moscow says an agreement reached re mission convoy should enter eastern Ukraine soon.  Ukrainian forces raised their flag over police station in the city of Luhansk.  City was under rebel control for months.  It’s seen as major breakthrough vs rebels. Ukraine says rebels in the east of the country fired rockets and mortars on civilians.  Many reportedly killed, including women and children. 

 

 Israel – Gaza Showdown : Puckster_guy heard Israeli and Palestinian negotiators in Egypt mediated Gaza truce talks hardened their position today.  Five day cease fire about to expire. Gaza blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt since Hamas militants took control of the strip in 2007, remains main stumbling block.

 

Other News :  Captl1 read Missouri’s governor orders National Guard to help restore order in Ferguson.  Move follows more clashes Sunday, police used tear gas on protesters.  Capt. Ron Johnson of Missouri Highway Patrol says police acted in response to gunfire, looting, vandalism and protesters throwing Molotov cocktails.  Private autopsy found that 18 year old Michael Brown was shot at least 6 times, includes two shots to the head.

 

429 heard Pres. Obama returned to Washington for meetings on Iraq and Ferguson.  President is expected to return to Martha’s Vineyard on Tuesday.  Pres. Obama says people must seek to heal and not wound each other in Ferguson, MO.  Attorney General Holder to travel to Ferguson on Wednesday.  He added in regard to Iraq that work for new Iraqi government is not done.  He is building international coalition to address humanitarian crisis in Iraq.

 

Pope Francis has left S. Korea after a five day trip.  At mass of reconciliation, urged South and North Korea to find ways to forge piece. Saint wonders why Sultan of Brunei is making $2B bid for NY’s Plaza Hotel.  Bid also for NY’s Dream Hotel, UK Grosvernor House.

Chess wished he could have bought 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C speciale auctions for $26.4M at Pebble Beach, CA auction.  Steve McQueen’s 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 sells for $10,175M. 

 

Dow gained 176 points at trading today.  Gold closed at $1,300, silver at $19.63, copper at $3.12.   Crude oil closed at $96.85 as oil lower on easing geopolitical tensions.

Biogen (BIIB) wins FDA approval of long acting multiple sclerosis drug Plegridy.  It also received EU approval for multiple schlerosis drug in July.  Apache (APA) made oil recovery off coast of Australia, it could be as much as 300M barrels.  Achillion Pharma (ACHN) says experimental hepatitis C drug shows promise in mid-stage trial.

Data includes patient’s names and addresses.  It happened between April and June. A-J516 is smiling to hear Leerink Swann begins coverage of Tekmira (TKMR) with outperform rating and $25 price target.  The stock closed at $19.45, up 7.58%.

 

From Dinar land : Kurdish security officials say US airstrikes help them retake the strategic Mosul Dam.  US expanded air campaign in Iraq this weekend.  Recapturing dam and its reservoir seen as significant victory over ISIS.  The dam supplies electricity and water to a large part of the country. Peshmerga forces are in need of anti-tank and heavy armored vehicle weapons.  Germany said it will provide humanitarian aid and studying with its allies what weaponry it can supply.

 

Calkid11 reported British PM David Cameron told British Parliament that ISIS is a real and present danger to the United Kingdom national security. Two villages overran by ISIS reportedly executed 90 Yazidi men and took 100 children and women as slaves.  Pres. Fuad Massoum discussed with Sec. Gen al-Khazali, the formation of new inclusive and choosing ministers based on merit and efficiency.  In the meantime, Abadi continues his discussion with various blocs and sects to form a government that will serve all Iraqis.

Goat believes whole heartedly we are once again in a very sweet spot to see the rv announcement in the next couple weeks.  Tlar is convinced Maliki has left Iraq.  DC says if you can move what we thought was supposed to happen this weekend just a hair, then that is where we are at now.  TNT Tony says things are progressing and even closer to the end.

 

On a side note, I am a proud mama :) my daughter made tennis team for high school.  She tried tennis for sports last year and played double for 7 weeks and it was playing around with best friend in the court.  She decided to take it seriously this year and tried out.   The result is JV single 2nd position.  This girl is natural and gifted :) I can brag about her all the way to the bank :)  she is beautiful inside out.  What she puts her mind into, she achieves :)

NADITA.....thanks for the news behind the news (as Walter Winchell...or someone?...used to say).

 

As mentioned in a previous post; must do the RV after ISIS (ISIL) is contained...with all of their stolen IQD!

 

Still, things look better than a few weeks back.  Bolster the Kurds FAST!..................from... :eagle: USA :eagle:

Good evening Nadita, being a proud parent is one of the most gifted feelings one could ever have. It lifts the spirit and gives you joy and happiness and not to mention some great bragging rights :-) I can see that you are a very proud Mom, keep up the good work.

Daily their is something new to mention and all of us here at DV are anxiously awaiting the next Spin. I know you are a busy woman and although I want to be selfish and say "keep em coming" I know that being a parent is also a full time job. Thank you so much for your dedication to us all here, much appreciated and have a super evening.
