Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Central Bank of Iraq announced adopting the electronic payments of funds (Visa Cards) to limit the phenomena of carrying and dealing with cash.

A statement by the CBI received by IraqiNews.com cited “The CBI adopted the Visa card system to develop the financial and banking sector and to create an atmosphere of competition among the different banking and financial establishments in Iraq.”

The statement added “The new system will organize the work of the providers of the service and issuing licenses for them according to the law No. (4326) of 22 June 2014.” /End/

If warka offers them then those with accounts can use them to withdraw before and after rv if it happens , right

It does say they will be organizing the work of those providing them and issuing them

So they wouldn't even need to cash out if they had a card , they would just be able to start spending

Wow - VISA isn't going to accept payments in low valued currency for very long I would expect - this could only bode well for us on this end.

is  this  post   dated  from  june  22 nd?  I thought  the  visa`s  and  the q- cards ,   were  already  handed out ?    thanks  for the  link vomer

Al Warka Finance and Investment has offered Master Card for several years. In October 2010, they stopped international use. Prior to that I used my Master Card in Kuwait, Germany, AUE, and "AMERICA", or what use to be called America!
