SocalDinar
I bought a 20 acre Placer mine north of Barstow CA recently and I am having some pretty good results.Especially for a novice prospector. I am getting 2-3 grams out a days use of a keene bellows type drywasher. My question is " Does anyone know the best way ( and cost effective way ) to process the super fine gold. I have a high amount of flour gold that i just can not pan out. I sure dont want to throw this gold away as i know there is a high percentage. Has anyone used the Blue Bowl gold concentrator or the Gold Cube? here is a link to the Blue Bowl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34ZXddnyRwo
Dinarian64
In theory heat would do the job...gold will melt at a lower temperature than rock....and one will rise to the top. There would be waste and there must be another way, but that's my speculation! And good for you at 3 grams...pretty lucrative days at the river. careful not to wash away the plants and animals. I have seen devastating effects that could not be worth those 3 grams per day to turn a desert wildlife area into a wasteland.
SocalDinar
Thanks Dinarian64 Too late on turning the area into a wasteland hundreds of square miles of dug up desert. I'm an avid off-roader and always tread lightly but man those old miners 100 years ago really tore up this valley. It was an ancient river bed ( pre Cambrian I believe) Holes everywhere at this place. I'm just picking up what they did not care about and could not easily process., I think gold was only $20 an ounce then and grams were not worth it with their primitive equipment, I would not even think of straying off the BLM roads here. 50 ft deep holes to the bedrock below everywhere Hard work mining gold but the adventure of it all is worth it!
