Ukraine Crisis : A-J516 can’t believe International observers again fail to reach site of MH17 wreckage.  They were turned back by pro Russian rebels.  The rebels reportedly mined areas around site.  G7 leaders threaten more Russia sanctions, call for cease fire in east Ukraine.  Also seek cease fire at MH crash site, pro Russia rebels are blocking access. Russia has been a patient country waiting for their opportunities to rise, Putin is not going to be easily swayed.

 

Israel – Gaza Showdown : Saint heard Israel hits dozens of sites in Gaza, including mosques which Hamas uses.  Israeli tank shells hit UN school in Gaza, killing at least 15 people.  Israel agrees to 4 hour humanitarian pause in fighting, hamas says it will not cooperate with the unilateral ceasefire.  In strongest term yet, US extremely concerned Israeli shells hit UN school in Gaza.  US also condemns hamas for hiding weapons in UN facilities. White House renews call for cease fire. 

 

Other News : Talks resume today as Argentina faces deadline tonight to avert second default in 13 years.  Argentina and holdout creditors held face to face meeting late Tuesday. Fed Reserve wraps up two day meeting with decision and statement of continuing tapering, no change in rates expected.  Labor market conditions improved, range of indicators suggest significant under utilization of labor resources, rates to stay at current range for considerable time after bond buying ends.  Philly’s Plosser dissents, objects to considerable time phrase.  Q2 GDP surges by 4% after contracting in Q1, beats forecast of 3.0%.  Upturns in inventory building, consumer spending led gains.  Calkid11 thinks it’s only in America where the House can sue the president.  House to consider lawsuit today vs Pres. Obama accusing him of abusing power in enforcing healthcare law.  Democrats call suit a political gimmick.  Captl1 heard Congress was expected to move quickly to approve veterans’ health care bill.  House could vote today on $17B bill unveiled by House and Senate committees.  Congress likely won’t deal with migrant surge before it leaves for recess.  There is not enough voters in Senate to overcome GOP opposition.  AP poll : 52% say children fleeing gang violence in Central America should not be treated as refugees. 46% say they should.

 

The bull slipped another 32 points today.  The Machine sees opportunity to buy gold as it closed at $1,293, silver at $20.64, and copper at $3.23.  Sprint Q1 EPS $0.01 vs forecast for (0.01) loss.  Sprint lost 334,000 wireless subscribers during the quarter.  Twitter user growth rose 24% to 271 million, mobile ads 81% of total ad revenue.  Twitter is upgraded by BOA, the price target ranges from $50 by Nomura to $65 by RBC.  The stock gained 19% trading today.  Netflix struck deal with AT&T in May to pay for smoother delivery of video streaming.  Facebook will shut its 2 year old gift shop on August 12, it will test other ways to let consumers shop on FB.  Amazon to invest $2B more in India on expansion, they opened its Indian website in June.  Toyota is #1 in global vehicle sales for first six months of year, VW #2, GM #3. GM hit with new lawsuit on faulty ignition switches which involves 650 alleged victims.  Boosterbglee is happy to hear Mini Cooper Countryman only small car to get “good” rating in frontal crash test.  Chevy Volt got “acceptable” rating, Mazda 5 is the worst performer. Carl Ichan cuts family dollar stake by more than a third to 6%.  Steve Cohen’s renamed firm making big profits just 3 months after SAC pleaded guilty to insider trading.  His Point72 Asset mgt made $1B profit in one hour! Holy molly, I would like to see what they trade in one hour J Mortgage applications fell 2.2% last week, refi appls fell 4.0% and fixed rate 30 yr mortgage rates averaged 4.33%.  BOA says award bears no relation to conduct at Countrywide, they may appeal. Whole Foods CDMP sales miss street forecasts.

 

From Dinar land : Today’s news has been hot like potato with Maliki withdrawing his candidacy for third term due to political pressure.  The five candidates of National Alliance are : three candidates from National Coalition : Ahmad Chalibi, Ibrahim al Jaafari and Aadi Abdul Hadi, the two from State of Law are : Khodair al Khozai and Hussein al Shahrastani.  Once Maliki’s announcement that he will not run for a third term, Iraqi people give a big sigh of relief and hopeful that an inclusive government will be formed soon and ISIL will be dealt with as soon as possible.  Goldie Girl agreed with Christian member of parliament criticized France’s decision to offer asylum for Iraq Christians displaced by ISIL, noting even though the invitation means well but it falls into ISIL’s goal to eliminate  Christian population in Iraq.  He added France should deal with the crisis like other countries by offering humanitarian assistance based on ethnicity or religion.  Vietnam1969 is confirming a key ISIL leader and his two assistants have been killed in Western Ramada in Anbar province.  Sandfly continue fiercely bombing the beehives, putting more worker bees to sleep.  Wiljor just wonders where the money comes from as it has been reported that 500B dinars have been allocated to help with displaced people.  More and more tribal leaders and politicians voice their disgust towards ISIL and predict the terror will end soon.  The US judge who ordered Kurdish oil be seized by US Marshalls has changed her ruling, stating the tanker is outside US territorial waters which was 60 miles away from Galveston, Texas.  Further, she added the matter should be resolved in Iraq.  Gymrat76541 heard countries have been cautious in buying oil from Kurdistan, so far only Israel who have bought 4 shipments of Kurdistan oil.  Politicians are hopeful to amicable work the differences between GOI and KRG once the new government is formed.  Iraq has exported 450 million barrels of oil in the first half 2014 totalling $45B.  Genx4me gives a big sigh to hear drinking water shortage has been resolved by the new Rusafa pure water project.  US State Dept approved $700M sale of Lockheed Hellfire Missiles, the deal now goes to congress for approval.  

 

From rumor land : Steve1 says we should watch for the budget and HCL. Stryker says Iraq is very close in announcing a single candidate and soon.  TNT Tony thinks it’s actually done and we are just waiting for the announcement.  DC says they are just waiting for IMF to give the word, we understand they have set the time for that, but we are not going to say it.  DC believes we are very, very close for this to be done.  Adam Montana is excited as we are heading for an exciting August.

My simple mind has been spinning lol the tanker will not leave port to a destination without being paid.  It's docking 60 miles from US territory waiting for the go ahead... once it gets the okay to unload, could this mean HCL is done..? budget is done and we are waiting for PM announcement that could happen any day now.  Hopefully what we are thinking come true.. they are putting their heads together and going to bust ISIL so meaning everyone is on board :)

Doesn't EVERY one go to the French side of St. Maarten ?  That's the side that has the clothing optionai (nude) beaches !!

Nadita, The only thing you wonder when on the French side of St. Maarten, is why you are keeping your eyes open....OMG....do not go there...trust me...do not go there. You will never be able to erase the memory from your mind. :lmao:
