Ukraine Crisis : Chess reported US officials release images to support claim Russia fired shells into Ukraine on 5 different days last week.  Ukraine fighting intensifies.  International team trying to reach Malaysia Airlines crash site at eastern Ukraine abandoned today’s efforts.  Heavy fighting  stopped them from reaching site.  Ukraine officials say flight data recorders show MH17 suffered “massive explosive decompression” after being hit by shrapnel from missile.

 

Israel – Gaza Showdown : Captl1 shakes his head when he hears more than 1,000 Palestinians have died in Gaza strip as Israel armies conducted their operations to destroy tunnels and rocket launchers.  Gaza is being bombarded from air, sea and ground.  UNSC is passing a resolution for immediate ceasefire for humanitarian purposes.  Tens of bodies are still buried under the rubble in the heat of summer.  Secy John Kerry is meeting with leaders in the region in Cairo.  

 

Other News : Rodandstaff can’t believe what he reads, 1240 Syrian soldiers and Assad loyalists  killed in the last 10 days.  More than 170,000 killed during Syria’s 3 year civil war.  Tanker carrying oil from northern Iraq’s Kurdistan plans to offload at a Texas port.  Oil said to be worth about $100M. Genx4me shakes her head when she hears the editorial board of the New York Times urges the federal government to repeal ban on marijuana.  They say it should be legal for people over 21 years old.  Goldie Girl laughs about fist bumps spread fewer bacteria than handshakes or high fives.  Fist bumps spread 1/20 of the bacteria that handshake do.  Does it work for business??  Argentina looks set to default on debt for the 2nd time in 12 years.  No progress made with negotiations with “holdout” investors.  Thriver heard Hague’s arbitration court orders Russia to pay Yukos shareholders $51.6B.  Ruling comes as a result of Russia expropriating the assets of Yukos.

 

The bull climbed 22 points today.  Gold is holding, closed at $1,306, silver at $20.64 and copper at $3.24. Oil dips on strong supplies.  A-J516 is doing a happy dance as El Pollo Loco going loco today, the stock continue to surge after Friday’s IPO, closing at $34.48. Virgin America, partly owned by Sir Richard Branson, filed for IPO.  Barclays and Deutsche Bank are the lead underwriters. Average price of regular gasoline falls 9 cents a gallon over past two weeks to $3.58.  Rdoncampos doesn’t want to eat chicken and beef yet, even though parent company of scandal hit Chinese food supplier withdrawing all products made by subsidiary.  Chinese solar stocks in focus after US imposes preliminary anti dumping tariffs (JKS, TSL, YGE). Amazon to offer 3D printing services to customize earrings, bobble head toys from third party sellers.  RyanAir reports better than expected Q1 earnings, boosts FY profit guidance.  Wiljor gives thumbs up for FAA proposal of $12M fine against Southwest Airlines for flying airliners without making proper repairs.  Zimmer (ZMH) raised to outperform from perform at Oppenheimer, $118 price target. Stock closed at $100.57.  Xeros raised to neutral from underweight by JPMorgan. AcelRX (ACRX) is downgraded to hold from buy at Canncord Genuity after FDA rejected pain drug device.  NYSE notified RadioShack (RSH) that it’s not compliance w/rules, share price under $1 for 30 straight trading days.  Reinman heard Microsoft says Chinese govt officials made sudden visits to their China offices, no reason given.  Luxury car makers like Audi and Daimler slashing prices for popular models and parts in China.  Firms came under fire from China’s anti monopoly regulators.

 

From Dinar land : The end of Ramadan is celebrated in the Muslim world except for several provinces in Iraq where celebration is not evidence due to violence created by ISIL.  One of the customs in celebrating Eid al Fitr is fireworks and it has been banned fearing the fireworks will be used by ISIL to attack.  Vietnam1969 reported that the right man of ISIL, Fahd al-Qahtani was killed in Mosul. Stealthwarrior on the ground and Sandfly on the air have managed to destroy a few beehives and putting worker bees to sleep.  Oil tanker from Kurdistan region has been cleared to offload in Texas by US Coast Guard.  Iraq central government has threatened to sue any country accepting so called “illegal oil” which shipped through Turkey, Ceyhan port. The CBI USD sales has risen to over $185M in Sunday’s auction which shows as a healthy sign of increased trade.  The selling price is USD1/1166 dinars and buying is US$1/1187 dinar.  Calkid11 wonders when the banks in America will do as Islamic Banks in Iraq providing over $5B in interest free loans to small business owners.  The loans will jump start thousands of small businesses and industries and help with employment.  More cargo ships are lining up to unload in southern ports carrying food staples, building materials and other necessities.  Members of parliaments and economist are in agreement that Iraq is facing a rough period due to ISIL crisis but economy will go forward with its expansion, large industries are springing up and infrastructure buildings will resume soon.

 

From rumor land : Chattels thinks the offloading oil in Texas may speak of agreement on export oil from Kurdistan region.  Pepperoni says every expert has stated dinar is undervalued. He thinks dinar will gradually appreciate so bankers can profit. Tlar thinks a uniform vote by Wednesday at the latest and it is possible that Jabouri will call them back into session before Friday next week.  TerryK says his sources gong crazy saying the blessing is upon us.  WMAwhite expects the announcement to happen anytime.  DC thinks they have had PM for many weeks and it looks really good. TNT Tony says we are there, everyone agreed.  BGG reads an article saying Jubouri, Massoum, Jaafari met and decided NA would be the one to form the next GOI, not SOL singularly.  Massoum will call NA to proceed later this week.  Millionday doesn’t think it makes sense to have global banking with mastercard and no reality rate in place.  After the feast, the citizens will be using the card for payments.

 

500 Homes threatened by wildfire in SierraNevada foothills that’s burned 6 square miles.  Fire is now 50% contained, at least 12 homes were destroyed.  Communities across US cleaning up after strong storms destroyed homes, knocked out power.  Massive hail in Kentucky, Michigan.  Flash floods block some Ohio roads.

I was having lunch in a luncheon cafeteria about 10 years ago with a bunch of co-workers. Someone came over to introduce himself to me and offered his hand for me to shake. I told him flatly that I don't shake hands when I am eating my lunch. He was offended. What dork. I was eating a sandwich at the time. He just didn't get it :confused2:

 

How about using our elbows to say hello?  After all even knuckles have germs. :o
