And his sources

If Malik had to sit around and read every accusation about him and respond to every article he would be doing that 24 hours a day

That's why he doesn't respond

And since he doesn't respond doesn't make the accusations true

This has been going on for years

What charges have been filed against Maliki ?

And ya can't say he's immune

The constitution clearly states he must be with in the constitution he's sworn to

And the constitutions clearly states the procedures to file charges against him

But their are no charges filed against him only articles of accusation

Same goes for every politition around the world

Charactor assignations are the way of the world

And no matter who the next prime minister is you will all see the same treatment especially from those wishing to succeed from Iraq with Iraqi territory and its treasures

Your sadly mistaken.  Nineveh province filed a law suit on him for the murdering of the protesters.   And I believe the wife of one of Hashemi's body guards filed a  law suit against him, and Hashemi has taken files to the hague.  I mean I don't have exact details still in my mind, but you have been here long enough to remember them.   What are you trying to say here?  Maliki is being character assassinated?   R U serious?   His whole desperation trying to hang on to the 3rd term is to keep from being prosecuted.   They don't want him, and the ones that do are scared of him or helped him do his dirty work.

Time for al-Sistani to issue a Fatwa against Maliki.

This demon has to go......now!

It's obvious that Maliki hasn't gotten the word that Al Sistani wants him gone. Maybe one of his assistants could take him another letter...You would think Maliki would be trying to find a hiding place rather than begging for a third term PM job, he might find that task a little easier than getting a majority vote in the parliament.

alright, I'll bite. what IS a Fatwa??

A fatwa is a proclamation by the leading religious cleric. It's a demand, an ultimatum.

Sistani, the head Shiite cleric has already told Maliki that he needs to hit the road and that there is no way in hell that he is going to get a 3rd term.

Maliki is psychotic and a sociopath. He thought he was going to continue to run roughshod over the citizens of Iraq... but he was dead wrong.

M had the opportunity, a couple times, to quietly leave but he continued to attempt to bully everyone. Now,he will leave with NO IMMUNITY.

Yes, DoD......I'm not so sure that Maliki fully comprehends that he's about to be the honored guest at his own neck-tie party.

He's clearly insane....I wonder where he is going to try and flee and if he's going to take his close SOL buddies with him?

Hey, thanks.  but if he already told him then what would be the reason for the Fatwa.  didn't he already issue it?

om another note...  maliki still thinks when push comes to shove that he will be the guy.  he is going to still be there until someone else is officially appointed PM because of the immunity he currently enjoys.  it's his only safe haven,  in a few days it will be over.  then where he goes will be irrelevant because where ever it is there will be someone who's family he killed or torched waiting for him.  he knows that.  that is why he is clinging to this last desperate attempt to still continue against all odds.  the reality is that he has no place to go EXCEPT iraq.    anywhere else he is dead for sure.  he is insane but in the self preservation sense.  i don't think the jungles of Argentina are going to appeal to him after the life he has lived.  even though both he and his son and family, have stolen billions of dollars there is no place where they can feel safe.  he follows in the foot steps of Saddam and OBL  they will hide from the world, living lives of quiet desperation until some organization finds them and kills them all.  unfortunately the fact is that he, for sure, and his son, deserve whatever they get.

Aaanth,

There is a Big difference in Sistani personally asking Maliki to leave and issuing a fatwa.

These Islamic clerics orders ( a fatwa) is to them like The Pope talking to the Catholic masses ..... the faithful will die following Sistani's order.

The reason Sistani had a meeting with Maliki was to ask him to just go away. He will not ask him again.......next will come his decree.
