Iraq - based Asiacell Communications received a letter from the Communications and Media Commission (CMC) requesting the payment of USD76.4mn.

According to the CMC view of Asiacell's shareholding structure, Asiacell should pay the regulatory fee based on 18% rather than 15% of gross revenues.

Consequently, Asiacell filed an appeal at the CMC's appeal panel in disagreement on the legal aspect of this matter.
