Ukraine crisis : Thriver shakes his head as Ukraine crisis is not going away as US expands Russia sanctions for continuing to destabilize eastern Ukraine and occupation of Crimea.  Sanctions are targeting banks, energy and defense firms.  Russia dismisses US sanctions as “bullying”.  Pouting Putin says US sanctions will stalemate bilateral relations.  US is coordinating sanctions with EU which weighs blocking loans for new Russian projects.  Russian financial assets under pressure on plane crash, imposition of new sanctions.  Ukraine says an air force fighter jet was shot down by a missile fired form a Russian plane.  Second jet hit by a portable surface-to-air missile.

 

World News : Umbertino reported live from Gaza where the missiles are flying like UFOs, Israeli PM launches ground offensive in Gaza.  BG888 doesn’t know what to think when he hears US intelligence confirms surface-to-air missile fired at Malaysian Airlines MH17 on Russian-Ukraine border killing 298 people on board.  Currently, USA, England, Ukraine, Russia, Malaysia and Australia want to do an investigation why the plane was shot down.  Since the debris are in Ukraine territory, the big question now is, who has the black box?  Our prayers to the families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy, may God give them peace and cover them with His grace.

 

Dow touched record high earlier today and plummeted at the news of Malaysian Airlines shot down and closed 161points less from yesterday trading.  Gold closed at $1,317, silver at $21.17, copper at $3.21.

UBS cemented its lead over BoA as world’s largest private bank.  Former Ford CEO  Alan Mulally to join Google’s board, he will sit on audit committee. GM CEO Barra says no plans to expand victim compensation fund referring to initial recalls for defective switch. From Dinar land : Vietnam1969 and his stealthwarrior team on the ground and air by Sandfly have dismantled 40 IEDs planted by ISIL on the roadsides frequented by security forces.  ISIL is changing their plans to planting IEDs as they realize they are losing grounds because many Sunni tribes are turning against them.  In central Salaheddin province, security forces found 5 civilians body killed execution style and their bodies were dumped near Tikrit where the heavy fighting in the last two days.  Boosterbglee thinks it’s about time as several parliament members are pushing for the passing of the most important laws that are pending for a long time including 2014 budget.  House speaker Jabouri in his speech says new parliament has to focus on addressing the most pressing issues and pass laws accordingly, there are 150 laws unvoted from previous sessions including budgets and laws concerning Iraq’s infrastructure are top agenda.  Jabouri’s election was warmly received inside and outside Iraq.  Hopefully, he will bring the fresh air to stale atmosphere in Iraq and he has a heart for his people and their well being.  It’s time for a new breed of leaders to rise in Iraq.  Saint is giddy to hear Members of parliaments and political observers expect the next Wednesday’s session will be very key in electing Iraq’s President and his two vice presidents,  hopefully Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will name its candidate asap.  Iraqi ports have unloaded 1,224 large cargo ships in the first 6 months.  Iraq’s crude oil export will exceed 2.6 million barrels in July.  The recent violence in the north has not affected oil production, whereas the south has been expanded its production to 3M barrels per day.  With the expansion of pipelines and storage facilities, there is no doubt Iraq will be the fastest growing oil producer and exporter among OPEC countries.

 

From Rumor land: Millionday says CBI could release the value and set the international rates to the currency on the globe at any time because CBI is independent.  Tony thinks we are in a good week.  DC believes things are looking exceptionally good.  Poppy3 believes rv will begin the day PM is seated.  Tlar says in true Iraqi style, they have managed to push the parliament meeting to next Wednesday.  Coalition is prepared to finish this with a no vote on Maliki. Tlar added he still stands by the rate will be over $3.25 - $3.65.  WMAwhite says Washington Post writes Maliki will announce his resignation within days.  BGG doesn’t want to get excited yet but maybe.. maybe GOI will be seated quickly.  Wildduck recommends to better start planning a new life as this venue is about to close.  Steve1 says his sources have told him budget and HCL will be passed together.

I was just wondering where you have been and here you are :)  good to see ya and yes the yacht is cool and you not only can touch it but you can buy it too as soon as the monopoly money turns to bens :)

Wow...what a busy news day...I sure hope tomorrow is boring.  As a foot note...on the air crash the news reporter said there were 295 souls on board...we are still asked how many souls on board if we declare an emergency.  A cleaned up version of when emergencies didn't end well and you reported how many poor sons of b*tches you had with you.
