Adam Montana weekly - June 18, 2014

Good morning everyone!

I'll jump right into the serious discussion, and unfortunately it's not going to be

the most upbeat weekly update ever. I'm not here to make up stories, as most of

you are well aware.

I will preface my thoughts with one statement - while Iraq has taken a step back,

and I don't expect to see this blow over very quickly... all is not yet lost. There will

be no RV tomorrow or this week or probably not even this month, which takes us

right into Ramadan (basically the whole month of July).

In the past, I have always maintained that no RV would happen during Ramadan.

Depending on how the next couple weeks go, I may change my stance on that

statement... we will just have to watch as events continue to unfold.

The current situation is pretty serious over there - ISIS is not a good organization

and they are making progress in their initiative to take control. If the GOI doesn't

start handling business, it's going to get worse. It's my opinion that Iraq is going to

need outside help - they simply aren't doing an effective job of defending their cities.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the innocents that have and will be affected by

the current situation, and I hope to see a quick end to the radical terrorist invasion

that is currently taking place.

Caye98 Hi Adam! I have no doubt you are working double-overtime on keeping up to date on the happenings in the middle east, and I hope your connections there are safe. In spite of how media in the US is covering this (and not discounting the rising death toll), it seems to me that from a business standpoint, business will continue on and align with whoever remains/becomes in charge. In other words, while certainly not impossible, it seems unlikely that whoever is fighting and killing each other is equipped to run a country's infrastructure and government (not that the current/recent regime have been doing a stellar job...kind of like the US), and as the dust settles much of the infrastructure will remain in tact. After all, creating a new banking system (when a relatively new and state of the art one has recently been completed) would not be something to be messed with. This being the case, there seems little reason for the IQD to be replaced with another currency without the current currency having a trade-in value, and quite possibly a much higher one. Whoever pulls the trigger on financial prosperity (RI/RV) stands to create loyalty and promote stability. The way I see it, it still just remains a matter of time. IMHO - Thank you for your continued attempts to calm nerves and present facts as clearly as we know them.

Caye, very well put and I thank you for the level headed comments. I do agree with you -

while it's not encouraging to see the current happenings, Iraq has come very far and

I don't think this is going to destroy the important structure that Iraq has rebuilt nor do I

think this will put an end to Iraq's potential and future progress.

chess ADAM:  IF IF it comes to past (?), do you think it might be a possibility to trade in, what we have now, for what might be Kurdish dinar?......thanks

Yes indeed! I do not under any circumstances think that the currency we hold will

suddenly become "worthless". If the currency is changed, there will be a period of

time to exchange it.

SnowGlobe7 Do you think there is someone behind ISIS? Such as Maliki? or Iran? or????

The conspiracy theories could be endless.

countryroads Adam. Just how safe do you think our investment is now? Other countries are probibly getting to the point of sayings ten years and still no tradable currency, and now they have insergents running rampant all over the place killing and destroying things. Iraq could get the reputation of being a third world country. If things don't improve and then I feel it will be at least one more year or more before descussions resume about an RV. What do you think? Is the RV headed for the back burner now?

I am not throwing in the towel yet! This will definitely be a setback, but it's not the "end

of the line" for the Iraqi Dinar.

Iceberg Hello Adam,   Thanks for all you do! My ?uestions after various discussions with other dinar investors! Would it be in the best interest for our country to step in because a non RV of the dinar would be devastating to our economy. The point has been made several times that our country has so much dinar that it would effectively wipe out the deficit and balance the country's (U.S) books???? After being invested for 8/9 years now, I'm totally nauseated !!!!!!! Your thoughts????

It would be in Iraq's best interest to get outside help, but I don't see how we can possibly

be of any effective use given the fact that our leadership here makes a bumbling mess out

of anything it touches in recent years.

geographer Adam any word on the new GOI and MP and when they will take over?

Not yet, that one is still in limbo.

VEGASDINAR Adam you said a few weeks ago if Maliki is out as PM your strategy would change. Has recent activity in Iraq moved you in a different direction yet?

Not yet. :twothumbs:

soonerdoc With the ISIS now controlling 15 cities, slaughtering thousands, and 40 miles from Baghdad, is the writing on the wall that our hopes for an RV is basically about to be flushed down the toliet?  I am sick that we have had years for them to make it happen and I blame Malaki.  He clearly only cared about the Shia's and never reached out to the Sunni's and Kurds, which could have made them a very wealthy nation.  It looks like they will now be in a civil war that will see thousands slaughtered when they could have been experiencing wealth and prosperity- something that could've brought a lot of people together to exist peacefully.  Do you have a different opinion or does this basically sum it up and all of us Dinar holders are just holding monopoly money now?

soonerdoc Also, if I am not mistaken, doesn't the HCL have something to do with Iraq having the ability to defend itself?  With them folding to the ISIS, does this even further delay and HCL announcement.  I would think that would also be a foregone conclusion.  I hate that these questions seem negative, just several years of frustration, hoping for an RV, joining for lifetime membership, offshore, etc. and it all seems so foolish at the present time.  I've told a few family and friends what I invested in and they never really believed it would ever happen but I never wavered and kept on believing.  I looked forward to the investment possibilities if it RV'd and wanted to help out so many people.  I just can't believe all this is happening and this ride is coming to an end but we all knew it was a possibility.

It may be coming to an end, but again... I'm not jumping ship yet. We'll see soon enough.

:twothumbs:

Hello Adam, is Maliki still pm or is he out?

Have you heard anything on the HCL yet?

Thank you and the MODS for all the hard work you do here to keep us updated.

No official word on Maliki, no word on HCL yet either.

===============================================

That's it for now... stay calm, pray for the people, and I'll let you all know if I hear anything major that isn't being reported elsewhere.

:tiphat:

Thanks for the update Adam. I am not ready to throw in the towel yet but they sure

know how to test ones patience. If we didn't have such an inept administration I

don't think Iraq would be in this position. Air strikes on these ISIS groups while they are

moving from town to town would seem to be the best bet.

If these radicals get to the embassy and capture Americans it won't turn out well.

My prayers to all involved.

I believe there is a good chance for the RV this summer -- after Ramadan.

Thanks Adam - WOW!! well I guest we might have to wait another 2 plus years if not longer - I am in this for the long haul but it seems like I won't be able to see this doing my lifetime - I hope I am worng but after being in this for over 7 years or so and for Iraq to take another MAJOR step back is not looking good for any future RV doing this year - I just want to know if Iraq will ever get a government that really wants to get down to during serious business and stop playing games - Lots of countires and investors wants to do business but their leadership over their is a mess.  Not Good at all....Thanks again Adam for being level headed and honest with us - as always we just have to WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, and be patience and WAIT - Just my one :twocents:

For the Iraqi citizen:  Money in the pocket, food on the table, and confidence in the dinar.

For dinar holders:  more money in the pocket, financial security for the future, ability to help others.

For those without dinar:

Problem is if we went into help now we are aligning with Shias and alienating the other factions - it is not as cut and dry as it seems. People like to do the blame game but reality check is its a no win situation to send troops in now. Maliki did this as an attempt to control and alienated everyone tying us hands politically regardless if our own prevailing party,

Also who thinks just because they all of a sudden have money that the fighting will stop - greed will drive the violence further IMO

Even Adam said the 4 letter word we hear so much in Dinarland:

"We'll see SOON enough."

SOON!!!!

Thanks so much Adam for all you & the mods do, week after week, while the Dinar turns!

May we all send positive thoughts and prayers to the Iraqi people who need them so much right now.
