BAGHDAD (Iba) ... student cleric Ahmad Kubaisi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to enter the broader history of the doors by offering his resignation.

yea it seems Maliki is gone Shabs just released more accounts of corruption the guy is more than likely out, the protests were his demise. Maliki is scared of probably getting killed its NOT worth it to him. Again lets hope he is gone for good.

I think the line about resignation is translation error. I believe the cleric is saying that if he would announce his resignation he would go down in history in a positive way.
