FOX NEWS LIES: Obama only had a majority for 133 days, not two years

Fox News is in business because their model of success depends on their viewers not knowing the facts. Host of Fox News, Chris Wallace, made the incorrect assertion during an interview Sunday that President Barack Obama had a filibuster proof majority(60 out of 100 votes) in the Senate for two years. The actual fact is Democrats only had a filibuster proof majority for 133 days, a far cry from the over 700 days that Wallace gleefully interjected.

This is not the first and will certainly not the last time Fox New has been caught saying completely untrue things on the air.

The statements took place during an interview with the mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa. Wallace asked Villaraigosa, "What's stupid about Obama and the Democrats?" and the mayor declined to engage on the baiting point. The conversation then shifted to Villarigosa explaining that President Obama has found few willing GOP lawmakers to cross the aisle and then paraphrased Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's now

that the "number one issue is to block the president."

Wallace shot back with the fallacy, "But in fairness, the first two years, he (President Obama) had a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and a big majority in the House."

There is certainly nothing fair about telling a lie on the air to millions of people. Villarigosa did not deflect the point as untrue, and that was his failing.

The simply reality is Democrats only had a filibuster-proof majority from September 24, 2009 to February 4, 2010, as was noted by talkingpointsmemo.com

This lie that is perpetuated by Fox News as fact, shows that if a lie is told enough times then it is accepted as truth.

The video can be viewed here, via crooksandliars.com.

Chris Wallace has yet to apologize or issue a retraction.

It’s Official … Senate Passes Obamacare Along Partisan Democrat Vote, 60-39

Mark the date, December 24, 2009 while Americans prepared for the Christmas holiday … Democrats perpetrated a treachery that will be their undoing. Say good bye Democrats, 2010 is right around the corner and you will be tossed from office for trying to make America a socialized country. This so called landmark legislation was done by Democrats against the will of the people.

It is touted and spun by Democrats and Barack Obama as a historic vote and moment in American history, the Obamacare health care bill has passed the Senate, 60-39. Not one, not one Republican voted for this disaster called Obamacare.

133 days .. wow .. now thats incredible .. please who is your news source that you trust

ya this was only 300 days after ,, then the house had to send pelosi out to the tea party smirking with her giant gavel .. screaming tea party areracists .. was the democrat theme i believe .. all the networks carried that theme .. but never could prove any of it .. so the dems sent in ..you know plants to pretend they were tae party people . but they were exposed too .. those darn liars at fox new ...

yes it's interesting to see dems critically annalize fox news and create the illusion that they pay attention to details but use fuzzy logic to make their case. These tactics only hurt their position really and for that I feel bad for them.

I wonder if that ability to critically annalize was turned inward for just a second would their head explode or would trhey still choose to ignore the tsunami of lies and half truths perpetrated by their own elected reps like for example tony villar...what a scoundral to the core. Need I remind you that he convinced everyone they were voting on a phone tax decrease when in fact the whole tax that was being collected was illegal in the first place and therefore would have been done away with entirely if they didn't vote it back on themselves. So that scallywag bamboozled LA residents into keeping an illegal tax under the auspices that it was a tax reduction.. you must feel stupid and dirty if you believe in these politicians.

And yes the dems agenda against the Tea Party wow what a manufactured smeere campaign. I saw families and upstanding middle class americans out there demonstrating against an overgrown government machine taking more and more taxes and freedoms. I see no problem with that line of thinking nor did I see any problem with how they conducted themselves during the demonstrations. They were clean, friendly, not racist one single bit and for the most part educated on the issues so why did the dems demonize them? Because it comes right out of their playbook to slander and assasinate the character of anyone or any group that dare have a different opinion than them. So if anyone stands up against the liberal machine then they must be racist, or biggoted or didn't pay all their taxes or some other stupid made up story. I don;t like an America where we don;t dare have our own iopinion out of fear that we be smeered by a large bloated organization. That sounds like a different place to me.

Well I for one am sick and tired of large orgs manipulating my opinion based on their own agenda, I will think for myself thank you very much and lets get rid of playground politics where we just make up stories about someone because theyre not my friend I mean come on this is getting old people. How can the libs demonize the tea party and exhault the occupy group when the occupiers were clearly a mix of extremists, druggies, rif raft and other jumbled creeps that left a wake of distruction everywhere they went. Wheres the critical annalysis of that? How can you criticize the one and not the other with a straight face???

Regardless of your thoughts of "lies" on Fox or the constant distortion of facts coming from LSMBC, ABC, CBS, New York Times, LA Times (All owned by George Soros, btw who is a Communist/atheist Billionaire-control freak). if we re-elect the current administration, we will be overlooking some of the most obvious fundamental principles of our country.

1. Liberty - Do you enjoy your freedoms in our country? Do you want to preserve this Liberty? The more bureaucrats and politicians involved in our lives limits our Liberties! When you can see a Dr., what type of medicine you can take, how much it will cost - all these diminish our Liberties by too much Gov't intervention.

2. When people work hard and earn a living for themself and their family, whether they are millionaires or just getting started in life, graduating from school and saving some money to get a step ahead, we normal Americans believe these people should be praised for their efforts, not ridiculed and attacked for their achievements. We Normal Americans want to promote success, innovation, and production - i.e. good citizenship. We want to preserve that, rather than expand the food stamp program, unemployment and welfare role that is being pushed by the current administration so they (our gov't) can have control over our lives.

3 We believe in a document called the Constitution of the United States of America. We believe in this document because it protects us from authoritarism, and totalitarism. We don't want a president, supreme court or congress passing a law, issuing an executive order or spitting out an opinion that denies us of our God given inalienable rights provided by the Constitution. We believe that people that are smart enough to choose their leaders are wise enough to choose what type of toilet we can use, the type of light bulb we use to light our homes, choose the type of toaster we want, the type of car we drive, weather it gets 8mpg or 60mpg, has 2 wheels or 18 wheels, why should the EPA be so involved in our lives that Statism / tyranny becomes a problem.

4. We believe a free people will produce more wealth which will be redistributed through voluntary transactions, contracts even charity rather than being told how and it works better in our society than any other society on the face of the planet. We know this from past, present experience.

Now, what the current Administration offers us is almost 20% unemployment on a monthly basis, homes that are devalued and continue to decline starting with Jimmy Carter and Clinton who started the community reinvestment act. A dollar that is becoming worthless overseas because of enormous uncontrolled spending and a Federal reserve that continues to print more and more money which further devalues the currency (supply and demand principal). Massive red tape that continues to smother our economy and the lack of desire to produce anything because of the uncertainity of our future. And most of all what the current administration offers us is TYRANNY. Now, that has no comparison to a misunderstood "lie" you say is a problem in the US. Wake up , Grow up, educate yourself and stop trying to find some small issue to divert attention from the real problems that are troubling our country before we don't have a Republic anymore !! This is it people, this vote will determine the future of our country and our sovereignty in the world.

Though I really hate to admit it, I voted for the O regime last time, and I can guarrantee you, that I will walk in a blinding snow storm to vote against him this time. He sold us out and lied repeatedly, show him andthe travelin wife, mother in law and the kids, and lets not forget the dog, the door. His posture, his looking down convinced me that everytime he opens his mouth, he's LYING... and this is from a 5 generation demo. I'd like to vote for Slick Willie, but not him. He is exactly what is wrong with the Dems...
