MP accuses parties of hindering the oil and gas law.
07/08/2012 09:30:00
Baghdad / NINA/ the member of the parliamentary Commission for oil and energy, Fatima Al-Zergani accused parties (unnamed) that they do not want to passage the oil and gas law because of personal, factional and nationalism interests.

She added: "The parliamentary Commission of oil and energy discussed with the Kurdistan region the export crude oil and its impact negatively on the Iraqi people in general and the Kurdish people in particular and how to address them," indicating that" exporting crude oil through the region without reference to the government, is a constitutional violation."

It is mentioned that there was a dispute between the political blocs on the paragraphs of oil and gas law, especially between the Kurdistan region and the state of law coalition, where this law has become a major cause of dispute between the KRG and the federal government. / End

"Bhishma said, 'Abstention from injury to others, truthfulness, the absence of wrath (forgiveness), compassion, self-restraint, and sincerity or candor, O monarch, are the indications of righteousness. There are persons who wander over the earth, praising righteousness but without practicing what they preach and engaged all the while in sin, O king.'"

Well if Baghdad don't agree to leave that part of the law alone, there will be an exit of the kurds from Iraq. I just don't see it passing any other way. The "big" problem is Maliki wants complete control of oil. Shabibi needs to know who is going to make the contracts etc. But, maliki has his own agenda and his alliance don't think on their own, just like our congress, they are partyline people.
