7-31-2012 Newshound Guru Doc Many more articles focusing on HCL and "deleting the zeros" came to light in the last few days. Most of the ones about HCL focused on getting a law that "meets" the constitution. One member of the Oil and Gas Committee shared there were 2 proposals and possibly a third forthcoming. Her concern seemed to be narrowing them down one so the law could be passed or at least voted on. This tells us there at least to some degree appears to be a sense of urgency are this issue. Then again when Maliki wants something delayed he simply throws up obstacles. We remain encouraged that the issue seems to remain center stage.


7-29-2012 Newshound Guru 8Ball The big news is that the Deputy PM is back to work with broader powers. This to me means agreement. Pressure of questioning Maliki caused an agreement on the reform paper. The UNAMI extension must have come with a promise from Iraq to form the government by a certain time. The DFI fund sits in the MOF must be moved to CBI to be recognized as reserves. This is a primary responsibility of the CBI. As soon as the DFI makes it to the CBI the CBI will adjust the exchange rate from the MOF. I do believe RV season is between now and September.

From The CNN News Desk (A Bar With A Laptop) - Another Update From Doc .....


7-31-2012 Newshound Guru Doc Shabibi is being asked once again to delay the "deleting of the zeros" and issuance of the new currency so it can be "completely" researched. The Finance Committee "..urged the central bank to delay the introduction of the new currency from January 2013 to July 2013 to study all the aspects of the process." We believe he is getting very tired of the GOI's obvious lack of progress. He has been publicly been countering the delay tactics. When the objection was raised about have the new currency in time for the "deleting the zeros" he responded by saying he had enough old coinage to cover it. We continue with our position that Shabibi is aggressively positioning currency reform by end of 2012 such that it is in place going into the 2013 financial year. This among other things suggests a by end of year timing as we have maintained for months now.

Here's a weird one from Doc today. I'm not sure how I feel about him sounding a bit like he's gone to the dark side, but I think I kinda like it.

The rumor about vouchers being given in Reno and the money not available until November 10 originated from a sect of this group. We must also inform you that some very prominent members who hold to this theory dismiss this as nothing more than a rumor. Based on what we've gathered we too dismiss it as more misinformation. We continue to vet information based on what is confirmable or has a proven track record and only put credence in reliable proven information. We do concede there are most likely many very quiet deals going on within the political arenas around the world. However, even if we were under a gag order we can assure all we would not even be a liberty to divulge that. We report, you decide. [post 3 of 3]
