HERE'S WHAT THE SITE I GOT THIS FROM SAY ABOUT THEM SELVES, BUT THEY DON'T SUPPLY LINKS

About Iraqi NewsIraqi News is a private English-language online newspaper that covers a range of Iraqi issues, including business, politics, security, social issues, culture, entertainment and sport. It has no link to any political party or interest group. Through its neutral reporting, Iraqi News works to promote democracy, freedom, human rights and business growth in Iraq as a post-war society. Iraqi News promises to put its readers first by providing them with true information about what is really happening in Iraq, the Middle East and beyond.

In a society which is transitioning from authoritarianism to democracy, the media is largely politicized. All political parties in Iraq own at least several media outlets to advance their political goals. The media controlled by political parties, the government or the state are predominantly ideological. They are not there to represent the true image of the society, but rather to represent the image they are interested in showing. In such media, neutrality and objectivity are almost always lost. Thus, the mission of Iraqi News is by no means an easy one. Its aim is not to tell people what to believe, but to allow them to make informed choices through access to unbiased information.

Tony, if this proves to be untrue, don't worry about it. How would you know. It is presented as news on an Iraqi news site. Anybody that brings over news, would know what it felt like to find this. Elation and bringing that news to friends. Good for you.

No one should be critical of you for bringing this over. We luv ya, babee!

They are not out of Chap 7 yet. They need to RV in country first. Then the sanctions will be lifted.

UNSC resolution restored Iraq’s full sovereignty

December 23, 2008 - 12:50:43

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The United Nations Security Council’s resolution to bring Iraq out of Chapter VII of the UN Charter has restored Iraq’s full sovereignty over its money abroad, the chairman of the parliamentary security and defense committee said on Tuesday.
“The resolution is an acknowledgement that Iraq no longer poses a threat to the security of other countries,” Hadi al-Aameri told Aswat al-Iraq.
UN Security Council Resolution 678 was the legal authorization for the Gulf War, which was passed on 29 November 1990. It gave Iraq an opportunity to withdraw from Kuwait by 15 January 1991 and authorized UN member states in cooperation with the government of Kuwait to use “all necessary means to uphold and implement” Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which authorizes the use of force to restore peace.
Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter sets forth the powers of the UN Security Council to maintain peace. It allows the council to “determine the existence of any threat to the peace, breach of the peace, or act of aggression” and to take military and non-military action to “restore international peace and security.”
The United Nations Security Council on Monday unanimously voted to extend arrangements for depositing the proceeds from sales of petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas into the Development Fund for Iraq and to review all resolutions pertaining to Iraq from 1990.

This is the post at another site by Miskebam, an administrator, "ALERT: UNSC resolution restored Iraq’s full sovereignty (THIS IS AN OLD ARTICLE)" on Fri Mar 30, 2012 7:28 am:

Several of the chat rooms last night were using an article from 2008 to say that the RV had occured, its one of those web sites that the articles are not dated, but the website's date stays current. So articles look like they came out that day... when in fact thay could be very old news.

Same article was all over the forums in December 2008, and was determined to be an opinion piece by a journalist. Just wanted to give a heads up to all those that might read this, to not get excited about this article.

I would think Ban Ki Moon would have to report back to the UNSC officially that Iraq has fulfilled obligations, and put the suggestion of lifting before a vote, before an official announcement is made by the UN.
