Babinaoz (Reuters) - The Iraqi government confirmed it had agreed in principle with Kuwait factors to achieve the withdrawal of Iraq from Chapter VII, confirming the presence of the Kuwaiti side to understand the need for the withdrawal of Iraq from Chapter VII.

He said the government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement received "integrity of electronic" copy of "The Iraqi and Kuwaiti governments have agreed initially to the withdrawal of Iraq from Chapter VII of the road map developed by the joint committees." Dabbagh said that the "file of the missing file and humane Iraqi government will work to complete as much as possible even if it is not a condition of the withdrawal of Iraq from Chapter VII."

It is great to see you this morning, fnbplanet, and thank you for the article.

JMHO - Iraq and Kuwait can come to all the agreements they can think of, check off their UN to-do list, and sing Kumbaya until the sun sets, but until their government is settled down and working for the people, the UN is not going to release the CVII sanctions and will continue to use it as leverage.

Perhaps Kuwait and Iraq are mending fences to become allies and become stronger in an area where allies are key and adversaries surround them. Just a thought......

Cris posted a thoughts of a friend on the situation in the area and had me thinking about something I was not aware of, simple, but thoughts I found interesting.

I am going to bring it back over here. I don't think Cris would mind, I hope.

Below is Cris' post with his friends thoughts. I am not saying this has to do with CVII, but there is a rug with many threads, and I think this is interesting.

PS I think there is so much more that a Middle East plebian like myself just does not know or realize.

Cris' post:

This is a quote from a friend of mine, I dont think he would mind
if I use it. This comes pretty close to the situation I believe.

Maliki IS in a tough position. The Saudis have a majority Shiite population, but the monarchy that runs the country are Sunni. Maliki is a Shiite, and is being supported by Iran. Iran and Saudi Arabia HATE each other. The Iranians have been trying to undercut the Sunni monarchy that runs the Saudi government through the manipulation of the Shiite majority there. This is the underlying cause of the hatred. The Saudis are also Arabs, and the Iranians are Persian. This is a particular hatred that's been in play for 1000's of years. The battle lines are drawn folks.

Now, the Saudis have this pipeline going out to the Red Sea from Iraq. The Iraqis would like to get this pipeline moving oil. The Saudis have been SILENT! Why are the Saudis silent? I speculate to guess that it's because Maliki is being used by the Iranians, and the Saudis don't trust him. They are going to use the pipeline as PRESSURE on Maliki to turn away from the Iranians, and if possible, pressure IRAQ to move Maliki out completely. The Saudis want a NEUTRAL Iraq, not an Iraq that's controlled by the Iranians.

Another piece of the puzzle. Syria. Syria is the opposite situation of Saudi Arabia. They have a Sunni majority population, but the dictator Assad is a Shiite, and is Iran's closest political partner in the Middle East. The Assad government is in a civil war with the Sunni majority. The Sunni majority is supported by the Saudis. Do you see what we have here? Syria is the country where the actual killing war is being played out, between the Saudis and the Iranians.

You can also throw Turkey into this mix. The Syrians just recently shot down a Turkish jet off their coast. The Turks have yet to respond.

The rest of the world is trying to CONTAIN the killing war (at least for now) to Syria. That's where you get the rest of the xxxholes like Russia and China and US, taking sides with the idiots that buy our xxxx! Whether it's parts to build nuclear reactors, or F-16's and other war machines. That's how the lines are drawn in the sand. It's crazy! But nothing new.

Now, how does this fit in with us and the RV? IMHO, I think that the Saudis have their fingers in Iraq more than we realize. And they have as much influence in the Middle East as Iran does. Our RV is being held up because of the REGIONAL conflict over there. That's why you keep hearing some of the political blocs in Iraq, crying about outside influence from the Saudis, Turkey, and Iran. The Saudis and the Turks want that Erbil Agreement implemented. The Turks want the Erbil Agreement implemented, because it means oil flowing to Europe from Kurdistan, via Turkey. The Saudis want the Erbil Agreement implemented because they want that STRATEGIC COUNCIL in place, which is a check on Maliki and the Iranians. This political meddling has brought Iraq to a standstill. I believe this is the reason Iraq can't get the IMPORTANT LAWS AND COMPLETED GOVERNMENT into place, which would allow the RV to happen. And that brings us to this damn NATIONAL MEETING! Again, IMHO, until we can see the outcome of this national meeting, we won't know how to assess where we actually stand. Will it be the Saudis or Iran that controls Iraq? Will that outcome affect the 000's? Questions I just can't answer...

xxxxxxxx

Awesome post Ms. C. Now this is the stuff I like to read, what is going on, what are the stakes on the table, and whats in the closet! This I can understand, and I might actually form an opinion of some worth. I was thinking from another article I believe you posted Maliki is strong because he has the army and Talabani. Do you suppose it is possible Talabani has a tid bit for the Kurds and company....have the National Meeting and you can have Maliki if you want him after the meeting. To Maliki he could be suggesting, Have the National Meeting if you want me to stand behind you. Just a thought.

Zig, if an article stated Maliki had the military and Talabani, I would be suspect of the news agency. Also, if Kuwait and Iraq are buddy buddy and CVII sanctions are lifted, and if there is trouble in Iraq, we can't go back in legally. I would think Kuwait, although they want the business investment opportunities, would want CVII in place until the government had settled and a dictator was no where to be seen. I am sure they remember slant drilling. That is what all of this is about. Is the potential for profit such a driver for Kuwait that they would risk being stabbed in the back....again. Oh, wait, I forgot we have troops in Kuwait. Are we getting a % of what Kuwait may make? No. Just get to pay for the troops then.

I really like Cris' post because if correct, it explains a lot that we don't know about the RV and gives me at least, a sense that I do not need to pull my hair out and all we have to figure out is not one country full of Arabs, but several countries and Iranians and whoever else wants to get into the picture. I am sorry about what the Syrian people are enduring because of all of this. What men do for power, money, and oil. It is truly stunning and so much more than shameful that I do not have words.

I'm rambling.......what did you ask me?

PS I think they all have tidbits on Maliki and anything is on the table at this point. National Meeting? It doesn't sound to me that anybody really wants it....did they ever? (you have been right about that one) Talabani is the President. You want a meeting.....call it and prepare your own agenda. Remember the adage' too many indians and not enough chiefs'.....that, and a chicken in ever pot.

I'm rambling.......what did you ask me?

You are correct. Over 80% of Saudi Arabia are Wahhabi Sunni's.They hate Shiite's with a passion! Shiite's are persecuted to the extreme in the "Kingdom". The Wahhabi are sick bastards that will stop at nothing to wipe out Shiite's everywhere, especially Iran. That is why the Middle East is such a powder-keg!

Israel is just a distraction to these two rogue states! They hate each other just as much as they hate Israel! Both hate the West just as much! Syria will sort itself out. Unfortunately many more will die before the Sunni Ba'ath party is ousted as they were in Iraq. Only then will Iran's influence in the Arab world start to crumble.

That brings us back to Iraq, and like the original poster said, "Iraq will be the deciding factor on how the whole Middle East will turn". If Iraq gets it's crap together, they will be the buffer that will separate the Sunni Arabs from the Shiite Persians for all time and peace will reign.

To those that think George Bush is a fool, you have no idea how the world works! History will prove him right when he made the decision to invade Iraq and impose democracy on them!

A peace will be found! Iraq will become powerful and rich. We will make a great return on our investment! B)
