Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Kareem Alewi, assured that "The political blocs will not be able to withdraw confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, due to the lack of the quorum even if these blocs will investigate him in the parliament."

He stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "The blocs failed to accomplish this project through the President, Jalal Talabani, and will fail in case the blocs summon Maliki to the parliament to investigate him."

"Basically, the political blocs which called for withdrawing confidence from Maliki committed a lot of violations against the political process and the citizens," he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send "A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki. /End/

"Bhishma said, 'Abstention from injury to others, truthfulness, the absence of wrath (forgiveness), compassion, self-restraint, and sincerity or candor, O monarch, are the indications of righteousness. There are persons who wander over the earth, praising righteousness but without practicing what they preach and engaged all the while in sin, O king.'"

Thank you for the posts this morning.

An article last night said that Talabani had given up and would leave the country for medical treatment this week. Many were right when they said Maliki was going no where (Easy). I hope this means that the HCL, Erbil, and ministers will be implemented.

It's ironically reassuring to see that Iraq has returned to it's normal state of disarray. How can anyone expect that Maliki will now majically seat the ministers and gov't when he has thrwarted that effort for almost two years. IMO, the key now is whether Shabibi feels that he must RV without the help and support of a fully-seated GOI; a risky move without a stable and complete government. If I had to bet based on this development, I can easliy see things sliding into September.......or beyond. Hope I am proved wrong.
