KamelKeeper
Demo in support of PM Maliki in Khalis 05/06/2012 08:33 DIYALA, June 4 (AKnews) – Dozens of people took to the streets in Khalis district, Diyala province, on Monday as a show of support for the Shiite Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki who is struggling with rival, mainly Sunni forces, in a potential vote of no confidence motion. Mayor Khalis Uday Khudran said the demos will continue and strikes may also be staged if a vote of no confidence successfully goes through. “This is the second demo in Khalis area, and there will be more in the coming days in other towns of the district” said Khudran, also a Shiite official. “We think this is an agenda of the Arab countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, in addition to some internal forces to remove Maliki.” Said Khudran, “Especially after the success of the Arab Summit in Baghdad and the security situation improved. All these have encouraged conspiracy against the Maliki government” Khudran suggested that the two Arab countries and the internal forces wanted failure for the Baghdad Summit and a worsening security situation. “But in the case of a [successful] vote of no confidence against Maliki, we will stage strikes and seek alternative ways as well” Late last month, the al-Iraqiya list, the rival Sunni list in parliament, announced that they were going forth with their efforts to remove Maliki from power and that they had collected over 200 signatures in the 325-seat parliament for the purpose. Maliki has been accused by the al-Iraqiya list of becoming a dictator by maintaining a strong grip on power and acting autocratically. Echoing the same position are the Kurds who accuse Maliki of not honoring political agreements on power-sharing. KamelKeeper
They can go home and wait for June 14th. Yes, all of the "dozens" of them. My personal favorite: “This is the second demo in Khalis area, and there will be more in the coming days in other towns of the district” said Khudran, also a Shiite official. Coming day? We know that could means, weeks, months, maybe years. Shudder, shudder, shudder. OOOOhhhhhhh. Is this the best PR man they can get? Maliki should know you need to have a great PR team and THEN feed the media the propoganda that was generated. They missed a step. They love him soooooo much, don't they Frank? Dozens?! Wow! Sounds more like the turnout for a PETA march outside a steakhouse in Omaha. Even I, a vegetarian, has to say that that was funny! ReVbo
 don't forget, no news either... dozens, we may need the riot police... Besides, it's Iraq. If they're not blowing something up, they're not really all that upset. I wonder if any effigies were slapped with shoes. That means kinda pissed, right?
