I missed the whole ordeal. I have no idea what threads everyone is referring to. All I know is that my homie scrumdiddles disappeared off the face of DV while I was at work today.

So Scrum was in a debate, friendly or not, with a staff member and apparently got the boot? Who is this staff member and did he warn Scrum before he did what he did? Was this an abuse of power?

I guess since this is a private site they have rules and regulations you must abide by or you will be booted. Now i did not see the exchange so he must have done something to get the hammer. Abuse of Power? Probably not, running your mouth and being disrespectful to MODS well you reap what you sow. End of story. Free Speech? We are given alot of leeway on this site and some folks take it too far. Scrum i assume was swinging for the Fences and probably overstep his mandate. Again i did not witness the exchange but you don't get booted from this site unless your serious stomp on your sword.

I agree, but with the threads completely deleted we can't even see what the mod said. What if the mod was having a power trip or being equally disrespectful? Or what if the mod simply overreacted to the situation? Was he antagonistic in any way? Yes, Scrum can be a handful with his words, but when the evidence is deleted, then we can't get the answers we need and have to rely on assumptions based on nothing other than conjecture.

I was on that thread, and saw the posts leading to their deletion......I did not see
the final straw, but I did see Scrum using the kind of language that is typical for
him, towards a moderator
I was thinking at the time, dang, he better watch it. Im sure he has been warned before,
but, if he went after a mod the way he has with me and others, well, thats unfortunate <_<

I don't doubt it, but just the whole deleting of the threads raises a red flag for me. Might me something, might be nothing, but why delete the threads instead of locking it so people can see for themselves?

I was disappointed that it was deleted. I was having fun with that one.
If we can keep things from getting out of hand, and not call each other
names ( O'blah excluded ) :D We should be fine

Well i guess if an entire thread is deleted well it was probably not meant for us to read. Red Flag well, i guess it is your choice to post here and it is the owner and Mods decision to punt you we all know the rules and if we choose not to follow then you make your bed and you have to sleep in it. I am sure if we wanted more say so in how things operate on this site then offer Adam to pay for part of the web space and i am sure you can see all as well or you can leave. I have sense enough to know how fair to push a mod, some of us don't. It is better to fly away and post another day. :D

Hmmmmm ... The site is pretty good about not censoring, but there are a number of places in the "instructions" on using the site that do state, and repeat, that whatever it is you are posting, commenting on, adding to, in agreement with or opposing, that the members use ... ah ... now ... um ... what IS that word ... hmmm ... had it here just a moment ago ... hold on ... hmmm ... ah ... yes ... RESPECT ... I think that was the word, or at least the connotation.

Could it possibly be, even remotely possible, in any way, that perhaps, just perhaps, some ... or all ... of whatever was being posted, or commented on, adding to, agreeing or opposing ... well ... perhaps there was a certain lack of ... ah ... well ... RESPECT involved?

Just a question. It might have been. But maybe not. I wouldn't venture a guess ... not having read any of it and not being an expert on ... ah ... that RESPECT thing. But, it may be something on which to cogitate.

Dude, what are you rambling about? No one is saying Adam or the mods can't do whatever they want. No one is demanding a say in how this site is ran. No one is disagreeing with the rules on this site. A question was brought up about what happened to Scrum and why the threads were deleted. You sound like a character from George Orwell's 1984. Don't ask why, just say yes.

Since neither you nor i are a MOD then i think now i can be wrong Adam has entrusted his chosen to moderate this forum. You are wanting to know all of this information which is probably discussed off line between ScrumD and the MOD who was involved. Some things on private sites are not posted but discussed off line out of respect for those who are involved. George Orwell who is that? If they want you to know what was said i am sure it would be still on the site. Whomever it was choose to just delete it. He who pays the bills makes the rules or ruling. If you want to know so bad what happen, ask 40 to email his side kick and then he can tell you in a PM. Easy Fix. :)

lol, a red flag is nothing more than slang for something that calls for attention. It doesn't imply wrong doing. You act as if someone chosen to be in a position of power can't abuse that power or simply make a common human mistake and use that power in a way they shouldn't. I was not defending Scrum nor attacking the MOD. I brought up hypothetical questions since we don't have a thread to look at to see what exactly merited the deletion of the thread. I see people already painting Scrum as deserving of whatever happens to him or the thread being deleted, which is ridiculous because the only evidence to prove he was entirely at fault has been deleted. People are too quick to crucify without knowing the facts.

Anyway, George Orwell was a famous writer. 1984 is probably the most famous book he wrote, along with Animal Farm. 1984 is a fictional account in which anyone who questions the government is killed. If someone even suspects you of thinking anything about the government, you disappear. In it, the people in power are perfect and can do no wrong even when it contradicts things they do or say . . . and if you question it, you're gone.

Just an FYI.... nothing on this forum is deleted. Some things are just made invisible to members while being reviewed or is sent to a trash can where we can still pull it up and read it.

None one has crucified Scrum i may not like scrum but hey scrum does as scrum does and furthermore who made you the person to inquire about any punishment that is carried out on the forum. So if you did not see the conversation between scrum and or Carla explained it all and i guess your question has been answered. Back to something other than talking about why Scrum's sayings were deleted.

Seems to me, it is pretty tough to get booted from the site. I have seen it before and those that got the axe, deserved it in my opinion. We all know the rules, or at least know where to find the rules. I believe it would be counterproductive to leave the thread up for all to see and debate. If what a person wants to say, feels over the top......it probably is. ;)

GO RV, then BV
