Chapter 7?

4-26-2012 Newshound Guru Adam Montana Chapter 7...I'll explain it like this. Iraq has a military. They are simply restricted in what they can do with that military due to the final Chapter 7 sanctions. One majorly important fact is that they can not use Nukes. You might initially think "So what? That's a good thing, nobody should use nukes!" but to put everything in "real world" perspective, if they RV their currency, settle the HCL issue, and recapture some of their former wealth and Iran decides "hey, I'll take that!"... what does Iraq do? If Iran pointed a nuke at Iraq and swooped in, Iraq would be taking a knife to a gunfight. It is REALLY that simple. Chapter 7 must be released in order for Iraq to successfully revalue their currency. End of story. ["continued in post 5...stay tuned"]

now i know this might be a question for the Wednesday chat session...but here it goes:

Now with the above statement.....does chapter 7 take the ability to own nuclear weapons, or is it to use them..... when i was there when we were looking for WMDs...and i can personally say i myself....did not see any.....now im not saying that they weren't there....but that i didnt see any....now did someone come and take there nukes when the war kicked off? Now there military...if say for example if Iran did decide to show up which i doubt....(i just see a bully with an opportunity...and we know bullies are cowards) but they did show up on iraq soil....can iraq defend themselves? now some of you might say no....and i ask why not, if they have a military.....even if Iran did shoot off the nuke the nuclear fall out alone will be like putting a nail in the coffin for Iran....which is the reason why they havent done it yet......so in a nutshell.....i guess my questions and or question...what is the point of chapt 7?....it seems as if damned if you do and damned if you dont.....help im a lil off....with this one....can some please help me get back on

I don't know. I was simply pointing out that the intel provided is shaky at best. We were lead to believe that the lifting of these sanctions is somehow a catalyst for the RV. The article states that the sanctions have already been lifted more than 2 years ago.

An excerpt from the article:

The resolution approved Wednesday terminates provisions of two resolutions adopted in 1991 under Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter -- which is militarily enforceable -- banning Iraq from using, developing, constructing or acquiring nuclear, chemical and biological weapons or material to make them and ballistic missiles with a range greater than 150 kilometers.

Adam Montana's post is simply inaccurate. End of story.
Chapter 7 is a red herring anyway. Just one of those things that gurus love to talk about and use both as an indicator of progress and also as an excuse why their predicted 10,000% increase in value hasn't materialized.

I know, but they spew this crap like it's gospel. Makes you wonder where they come up with this stuff. I guess they're just counting on people being stupid and not using their brains to do a little research of their own. Actually, they don't have to count on it because that is what's happening.

Too bad Legolas, dinarck, jmw and dvforumuser don't ( I guess can't) post anymore.

I have not been on for a while, are they all gone? If so, man that sad! I guess if the posts are not all "pie in the sky" they are not acceptable anymore?

Still hangin around guys.

Yeah chapter 7 is a favorite tool to keep hope alive but the fact is it has nothing to do with Iraqs hyperinflated currency. Countries cannot ”RV” their hyperinflated currencies back to a non hyperinflated state. Period. Chapter 7 will be lifted and the Dinar will still be at 1166 unless they move small pips if economic conditions allow.

I really dont even know where the notion comes from that countries can ”RV” their currencies. Some one show me one. Please

I know where the notion comes from. First, the notion is something that is purely made up in the minds of people. It isn't real. It's simply "made up". Second, the "notion" comes from people, or in this case gurus, who have a great deal of money to make from the "made up" "notion". It is the exact same thing as Al Gore making a fortune from global warming. Nuff Said
