Revealing Vid: Man Strips Naked to Protest the TSA

Posted on April 18, 2012 at 10:58am by Erica Ritz

Though many people feel they may as well strip naked when passing through airport security, most don’t actually do it.

But one man, John Brennan, apparently couldn’t take it anymore.

Though he was fully-dressed as he passed through the original security line, when he was taken aside for extra “searching” he reportedly began removing all of his clothes in protest.

The frequent flyer said he’d simply had enough. The police report said: “When interviewed about his actions, Mr. Brennan stated he fly’s (sic) a lot and had disrobed as a form of protest against TSA screeners who he felt were harassing him.”

Brennan was not intoxicated or under the influence of drugs at the time, but he refused the TSA’s repeated requests for him to put his clothing back on.

The police report continued: “Mr. Brennan‘s actions caused two screening lanes to be closed and while some passengers covered their eyes and their children’s eyes and moved away from the screening area, others stepped out of the screening lanes to look, laugh and take photos…”

Brennan was eventually arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure.

However, John Brennan is not alone in his nudist antics at the airport. A little over a week ago, a woman in Denver stripped naked after someone asked her to put out her cigarette. However, unlike Brennan, she was subsequently taken to the hospital–not the police station.

ooooooooooooo, from what I've seen that would be a very bad thing. Stewardesses maybe, but the general public? I'd have to take up drinking again (and that's not saying anything about the people who'd have to look at me :P ). That would be bad. Very bad.

Puppetmasters ... the original book by Robert Heinlein, not the movied supposedly based on the book which is really not at all the book. Earth is visited by globs from outer space, we are talking vintage Heinlein here, and they attach themselves to a person on the back, as in shoulder area, and take over that person's movements and actions. Fast forward through the story where these globs learn to hide in handbags and only have a tiny tendril reaching up to touch a person's wrist and fast forward again to the end where everyone on the planet has to stop dressing because these foreign space invaders can hide anywhere if you wear clothes. I will have to find the book again, sine I lent it out and never got it back, and check to see if they were able to wear like breastbands and crotch thongs, but it all comes down to having to face the reality that no one will ever be able to go back to wearing clothing without being thought to harbour one of these things.

I think of this when I read this post, and checked out the site and saw the picture. At the time they instituted all the checks at airports, and kept upping the ante with more things you couldn't have or take or wear ... I thought then that eventually we may have to be a nation of nude travellers, maybe even nude or almost nude all the time. It would make a major difference to our way of life ... well, actually, several differences. I find it interesting to think about.

I'm not sure how the TSA profiles passengers but I do agree that they have taken it a bit too far. The last time I flew was round trip from DFW to Hayden. The TSA jacked with me on both ends. It was humiliating and pissed me off. I will fly when I have to if my destination is too far. Other that I'm going for the road trip.
