they find some categories of packages paid 5,000 and 10,000 dinars very bad and some digits different glue in one paper and some packages incomplete number (100) but where the lack of number 3 or 4.

#1 catagories - we know what that is
#2 some were tattered and torn, probably because thats all they have left to give of the 000 Notes.
#3 some different glue in paper - so the paper feels different
#4 some are incomplete, lacking 3 or 4 zeros

they used 5000 and 10000 as an example

If you have a 5000 and its lacking 3 zeros, you have a 5
If you have a 10000 and its lacking 4 zeros, you have a 1

Not much lost in this translation IMO Smile

That is not what it says, what it says is that the teachers got paid less on thier salaries and some of the notes are damaged and stuck together
and that is how the bank payed them . and they are asking the bank to withdraw the money that is damaged. and pay the teachers correctly.

Took the words more or less out of my mouth ;)

Was going to note that

I think they get paid on cash packages and they are finding their packages to be a little "light"-- missing money.

Tells me the teachers are tired of getting old, torn, damaged bills on payday. Some notes have been torn in half and glued to another bill to make a complete bill. The bills are then sent to the central bank to be dealt with. They are also tired of being shorted pay, so they are keeping record of what they are shorted. Wow! People can really take things out of text.

what away to put faith in a new currency. that one dinar note wont even buy a pennies worth.

If the notes are in this bad of condition, I doubt seriously that there is 30 trillion in circulation. So it's still very encouraging to say the least!!

That is the first thought that came to my mind Unirod. Like you I find this very encouraging.

Edit to add, I think we will be reading more about this in the near future.

it is interesting to see they are having a hard time getting good usable notes in iraq .... they claim they have 7 trillion notes in circulation adding up to a value of 30 trillion dinars .. but they cant find .. decent notes for govt employees payroll....

if they are destroyed from daily use .. and they are in electronic form .. they could eaisily delete them in the event of a rv ....

they dont seem to want to print up replacement notes ...like they are holding out for new notes to be out soon ...the way it looks they cant hold out till next year .. or even sept for that matter ..

they said last month the oil checks would be handed out this june .. .. this is a big deal ..and as far as im concerned .. it should be around 12 to 18 billion dollars ...... not 50,000 dinars like the latest articles stated .....25% of oil revenues is supposed to be for the citizens ..im thinking around 6 to 9 thousand dollars for each iraqi citizen .. just my observation and opinion .. june looks good to me .. maybe before

The less notes there are in circulation, the more it forces the issue of getting an account at a bank. This has to be the strategy of the CBI....IMO

I got this off Kap's site. He sent this article to his Arabic translator for clarification.

I heard from my Arabic translator.

He said this is a person writing in to a paper (letter to editor of sorts) saying that they are getting 5,000 and 10,000 dinar notes that are mutilated or damaged. And some of the stacks are missing 3 to 4 of them. So they are getting 96 to 97 in a stack rather than 100. He said clearly that they want the banks and CBI to help. This is not about any smaller denominations. If anything, it confirms that the currency is wearing out.

thanks katie --- this sounds like the speed the banks are at over there ,,,, the tellers really must be haveing a tough time at passing the cash out { two for you one for me ---3 for you one more for me } ... but if they would go ahead with the r.v. rate --- WOW what beautiful new large notes they could gather and spread around ,,, :P
i don`t have a lot but would sell back for 1 too 1 ??? wait fifty cents would do now lol

Actually I think this is very typical of BL. Pretty common with Breitling, Kaperoni, and Frank too.
