It is wood, it is stone It is the end of the way It is the rest of a bole It is a bit in loneliness It is a shard of glass It is life, it is sun It is the night, it is the death It is the tie , it is the hook ... It is peroba do campo It is the knob in the wood Caingá, candeia It is matita-pereira It is madeira de vento The fall of the bluff It is a profound mystery It is the "want it or not want it" It is the wind, blowing It is the end of the slope It is the beam, it is the span Festa da Cumeeira... It is rain, raining It is a talk in idle of the waters of March It is the end of the tiredness It is the foot, it is the ground It is the trail on the road Bird in the hand Stone of slingshot It is a bird in the sky It is a bird on the ground It is a stream, it is a fontain It is a piece of bread ... It is the bottom of the well It is the end of the way A woe in the face It is a bit in loneliness It is a thorn, it is a nail It is a tip, it is a point It is a drop, dripping It is a bead, it is a tale ... 9. Montreal Jazz Festival 1986 Really good musician and fantastic melody creator...JMHO...He and Michael Franks used to be good friends...... In Brazil the Man used to be / still is an institution https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antônio_Carlos_Jobim Translation https://flowlez.com/en/songs/samba-de-uma-nota-so-28539/
  10. Toquinho ( left...moustache guy), guitarist and collaborator of Music Composer Vinicius De Moraes-RIP . Gilberto Gil ( right) , Musician, Composer and Secretary of Culture in the Lula Gov't. Itapua' is a nice (I happened to be there a few years ago) neighborhood in Salvador ( beautiful city, Brazil's 3rd ), Bahia state I'm personally saddened by the fact they have a fascist as president ( Jair Bolsonaro).... Ironic given the fact Brazil had already gone through a period of about 20 years of fascist military dictatorship ( beginning in the 60's until the first years of the 80's....Tancredo Neves was the 1st democratically elected president...He died after 1 or 2 years for natural causes...) Maybe a year ago president Bolsonaro decided to celebrate the day of the beginning of the fascist authoritarian military dictatorship ( which he shamelessly deems it as the best ever period for Brazil....) which started in 1964 and lasted until 1985...Unbelievable...... Plus of course he's guilty for his criminal and idiotic management of the pandemic ( in denial mode mostly)...So far about 600,000 victims Well...This year Brazil will have new presidential elections....I'm pretty sure Lula will be the winner The old bathroom floor A day to do nothing A sea that has no end And the setting sun in the air Afterwards in Caymmi square feeling laziness in the body On a wicker grass mat drinking coconut juice, it’s good To pass an afternoon in Itapuã The Sun that glows in Itapuã Hearing the sea in Itapuã speaking of love in Itapuã While the sea rises A little green cloud of a leaf To increase the sweetness With a rum cork And a forgotten look The sky meets sea Slowly, you going to feel good The whole Earth turns, It’s good To pass an evening in Itapuã The Sun that glows in Itapuã Hearing the sea in Itapuã speaking of love in Itapuã Afterwards feeling the chill Of the wind that the night brings And to say that's said that it’s soft That produce of the coconut trees And that serene space Without yesterday and neither tomorrow To sleep in the arms of a dark-haired woman Under the moon of Itapuã It’s good To pass an evening in Itapuã The Sun that glows in Itapuã Hearing the sea in Itapuã speaking of love in Itapuã
  11. Joao Gilberto-RIP daughter ( w 2nd wife...first one was Astrud Gilberto) Awesome song imho...I love this version Composed by Baden Powell...Lyrics by Vinicius De Moraes-RIP https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bebel_Gilberto It's better to be happy than to be sad Joy is the best thing that exists It's like the light inside the heart. However, for writing a beautiful samba, it is required a lot of sadness otherwise you can't do it. Writing a samba is not telling a joke And those who write sambas like these aren't worth it The good samba is a kind of prayer Because samba is the sadness that moves you And the sadness always hopes One day not being sad anymore. Add some love to a pace And you shall see that nobody in the world can beat The beauty contained in a samba Because the samba was born there in Bahia And if today it's white regarding its poetry It's too black in its heart.
