  1. What do you guys make of this? It is a copy/paste from this site... http://arabnews.com/economy/article484640.ece By REUTERS Published: Aug 7, 2011 19:54 Updated: Aug 7, 2011 19:54 BAGHDAD: Iraq plans to redenominate its dinar currency by knocking three zeros off the nominal value of bank notes to simplify financial transactions, a senior central bank official said. Central Bank Deputy Governor Mudher Kasim said he expected the new currency to be used in the market in three years and it would have no impact on inflation. “This will facilitate the payments system ... instead of carrying a lot of money, we will carry less. This is an important reform,” Kasim said. Iraq is recovering after years of war and sanctions and oil still dominates the economy, accounting for 95 percent of government revenues. Investors complain Iraq’s still heavily centralized economy is mired in red tape and bureaucracy, and transactions are still often carried out in cash. Kasim said planning and the preparation for reform was complete and the proposal would be handed to the government in the next month. It would also need parliamentary approval. Iraq’s central bank began discussing the redenomination of the dinar last year aiming to help ease financial transactions. In Iraq many payments are still carried out in cash because of the underdeveloped banking system. The Iraqi dinar is traded in auction at a fixed rate of 1,170 per dollar. Iraq has 30 trillion dinars in circulation, Kasim said, and the project would bring liquidity to 30 billion. He said the restructuring would include issuing higher categories of currency and the use of coins for the first time. Iraq’s higher denomination currently is a 25,000 Iraqi dinar bill worth around $21.
  2. I have a lot of respect for those who have been invested and reading the wide range of information for years. I personally find it hard to trust or sort after only a few months. Good thing I go back to the old grind stone in a couple of weeks with less time on my hands. LOL However, I must ask this......why would one have to be a VIP (per Adam's email) to benefit? Not meant to be negative...just wondering.

  4. I have come to this conclusion. There are at least three categories of people on this website. 1. Those who see an opportunity, wise, but not gullible and willing to ride it out. They offer advise, ask questions, and watch. 2. Those who are desperate for something to intervene into their life and believing they will be a millionaire over night. (Dreams do come true sometimes.) 3. Those who take advantage of the above mentioned, whether through selling it, offering advertisement, pumping, as it is called, or need an ego boost, or just plain crazy.....there are folks like that.. and the web... is a perfect place for them. I have met some in a couple of posts and chose not to respond.. If we would all be honest with ourselves, we are here because we believe it just might happen one day. Hopefully, you did not invest more than you could afford. It is speculation. I have learned to enjoy some of the craziness and humor and yet I do see the frustration with many who are about done. I was about done two weeks into reading this stuff... the rude comments, the people who are always here (wondered if they had a life and if so...how did they afford it? ...tell me). the prophecies, (I am a person of faith but.... come on???) flaky stuff? In the end there was some real stuff that I could connect with. There are a minority of real individuals here with a lot of knowledge who override most who speak....they stand out. . Thank you for those who are watching, open, informed, and sharing real intelligence in this odd investment. Read more:

    Dinar Trade

Anyone know why Dinar Trade stopped selling/buying? Do I smell a rat?
  8. Thanks Keep and all that have responded. Good dialogue.
  9. This is in reference to keepmwlknfny's comment: Here is a little reading information that will be useful in understanding what they have been talking about....... http://www.unc.edu/~...APSA%202005.pdf This answered a question I had. I have had many but realize "newbies" are not so respected so I try to refrain from posting. But I want to respond on this one with a couple of other questions. The thought occurred to me, why don't they just keep using dollars as it seems many are doing that any way. They could sell the oil for dollars and pay their people with that and not RD or RV. To RV would mean paying out a lot of money to speculators/investors. The main thing I could think of was perhaps national identity and pride. I see some of that as a reason in this document's analysis. Based on that document, what do you think would be the driving force to RD? Inflation, nationalism, or need for acceptance from outside countries? Now my newbie ignorance will really show with this one...... but I try to put things in perspective from a point of view that I am familiar. With an RD, would this be like the U.S. saying, okay people we are going to do away with all $100.00 bills and replace them with a single $1.00 bill. (Lopping two zeros.) Now, if I happen to have five $100.00 bills in my pocket and I take it to the bank and they give me five 1.00 bills, I now have $5.00 instead of $500.00? Would that be the effect? How in the world would that help their people or economy? Then I continued to think that most people don't carry cash here. I have money in the bank that I could go withdraw in any form I want, or use my debit card and access the total value. So how does that affect people in Iraq? Are they all walking around with physical dinars? Because if it is in the bank, it is just a figure. I am sure I am being way too simple but I would appreciate some feedback. BTW, I have been very impressed with Keeps posts, even though they do not always leave me feeling warm and fuzzy. At least I could see he is looking at this from a realistic mind set and appears to back up his personal interpretation with some form of economic research. I am hoping Keep sees this and will respond, but would love to hear anyone's answers. Thanks for the continuing education DV!
  10. This is in reference to discussion on the following post. Read more: Maybe I am naive but I guess I still believe in the system. Yes they (politicians) are people just like us, and have chosen to take political positions that are complex decision making jobs. ( IMO no political decision is cut and dry. Most are highly complex, just like the Dinar RV.) So to me, that makes them a bit different that the average Joe. I suggest people use the ballot instead of a "rope." Be informed on the issues and then vote your convictions. It doesn't matter if someone is a Republican, Democrat, or swinging a tea bag, everyone has a point that has validity. If one side was totally wrong then there would not be a debate and all would agree. That is what makes America great. The main thing is be truly informed. Most of us are not. I once did a survey with students in a Civics class. I asked if they considered themselves Republican or Democrat. I gave them a Donkey or Elephant sticker depending on their choice. After I read the positions of the major issues for both platforms that year, the majority wanted to trade their sticker. Being ninth graders, they were basing their first decision on the understanding of the party from their parents' point of view. Their parents most likely based their decision on television news bites. After hearing the issues, many could not wait to go home and tell their parents they might want to reconsider. There have always been the "have" and "have not" (elite and non) and there always will be. If you remove leaders, others will rise. That is the nature of human beings. I suspect many, if not most of our politicians, arrive on the seen full of hope to honor their constituents and fulfill the promises they made with personal conviction during their drive to office, only to find it is not that easy. I personally admire anyone that could climb into the political arena. It takes a certain type of strong individual to do this. I would not want that job. Do I believe there is corruption in our political system and many who are self-serving? You bet. But I also believe in the system and we need to make them accountable in the manner in which the founders intended. I also do not believe that the Dinar RV is being manipulated in Washington with high ranking officials cashing in or the President holding it up. (Can you imagine the scandal that WOULD come out?) I think it is all in the hands of the Iraqi Government and like government decisions being made here, highly complex and perhaps being made by self-serving people. Hopefully, democracy will reign here and eventually there. I noticed there are a lot of military people on here. Thank you for your service that protects and promotes this great country and Democracy around the world!
  11. I am confused. I read this earlier today. Which is true? BAGHDAD, July 11 | Mon Jul 11, 2011 5:48am EDT BAGHDAD, July 11 (Reuters) - Iraq's Oil Ministry said on Monday it postponed the initial signing of a $12 billion deal with Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L) and Mitsubishi to capture flared gas at southern oilfields. The signing of the initial contract was originally scheduled for Tuesday. The ministry did not give a new date in a statement sent out on Monday and oil officials could not be immediately reached for comment. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/11/iraq-shell-gas-idUSLDE76A0ME20110711
  12. What is really going on here? Yes, I am a newbie on posting. I first came across this rumor site when doing a "google" after being invested/speculating over a year. I do not look every day. It is almost like a soap-opera. You can skip a few days/weeks/months.... and the same ole thing. I am beginning to wonder if there are any real people with knowledge. When I first found this section I called the person who told me about this and said "who is Okie?" I thought he was someone with great knowledge and it was about to do what she said it would eventually. LOL She had no clue who Okie was, and I have not talked about this site with her since. However, out of curiosity, and I guess hope, I still look here. So, to the real people out there......do you really believe next week? Again? Read more:
