My bank story goes like this, i checked with my personal banker a few years ago and she told me that there is insurance offered threw my bank to cover anything over the FDIC limits, A person might be able to make a percent or two by insureing there money. I`m sure they wont just offer this information to you so they can make the interest. Might be worth your while to at least ask about it.

i checked with my bank and found out that you can buy additional insurance on accounts over 250k, The question is, does it cost you more than the interest you can earn. Stil IMO its worth looking into after we cash in.
