  1. This is the key phrase, in my opinion, for the whole article. I don’t know if we will ever see a return on our hopes, dreams, and prayers with the dinar but I do believe It’s all about personal and/or party interests that control EVERYTHING that goes on in Iraq. I’ve been warned by people who have spent time in Iraq that the country is so corrupt that there will never be an agreement on anything due to the different power hungry factions. I am becoming a believer and feel about ready to cash in my chips. ☹️
  2. Maybe afterwards 😂 THEN, I will have the latest and greatest power chair 😁
  3. WHY would he do this?? Hopefully the U.S. won’t need the reserve oil before the end of 2024. That reserve is for the emergency use for the United States! 😡
  4. Absolutely agree. I use a debit card extensively, BUT must have money in the bank to back up that card. Perhaps 2024 will be our year, surely will be nice. I hate to have to go cash in in a wheel chair 🤨😁
  5. In their “weighing”, I hope they actually decide to do it instead of just talking about it forever.
  6. I’m very encouraged by these articles but so surprised definite plans are being announced. I never expected immediate plans to be advertised. All I can say is “Come on down!”
  7. I’ve researched this topic some as well. I can’t find the phrase “international traded currency”, but I did find this info: https://www.wto.org/english/news_e/news12_e/s4_martin_sciences_po_e.pdf I believe this info points to a WTO member’s currency must be “exchangeable” with the country with whom they are trading. Thoughts anyone?? Perhaps I’m reading more into the info than is actually there??
  8. I suggest we wait for the WTO to announce the entry of Iraq into a full membership of WTO before we pop the cork. I recall many times in the past when different Iraqi individuals made statements which sounded wonderful but nothing came to fruition. Just my thought.
  9. It’s been my belief they must have an international traded currency to be a full member of the WTO. But, I don’t study Iraq as much as I have in the past so may be in error.
  10. Russia and Red China would love for Iraq to kick the U.S. out of Iraq so they could “fill the void”. Thankfully even the current US Administration has more sense than listen to the garbage.
  11. Yes!! I was just watching a news item about some of the horrible programs and the damage they are doing to many of our young people. What is wrong with us for allowing this??
  12. I totally agree and because of the open border situation for the past 3.5 years, there are at least thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of sleepers in this country. God help us if this country doesn’t change course this coming November.
  13. I agree. I will vote for him in the Primary and the General Election if he’s the nominee. I do believe he was a bit more “loose cannon” than Reagan but there were definitely similarities.
  14. US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he had made the decision regarding the nature of the response to the Jordan attack that killed 3 American soldiers and injured more than 30 others. blah blah blah. A true Commander in Chief would keep his #*/.% mouth shut and take care of business properly. THEN maybe a press conference. He and his administration did not and does not plan to do one thing about our military being attacked, injured, and killed which, imo, encourages additional such attacks. How many recall Reagan having a missle flown into Gaddafi’s living room? We had very little trouble from Gaddafi from that point on. I long for that kind of leadership.
  15. I immediately went to WTO.org and couldn’t find any verification of any planned meetings on this subject. Perhaps I overlooked it so if anyone else finds it, please post. Iraq rejoining the WTO would be a huge step. IMO.
  16. I have no argument with this statement. None whatsoever! This is a very deep subject and my faith in the alphabet organizations is almost nonexistent.
  17. There was never a doubt in my mind that the U.S. will remain until further notice. My son in law (Naval officer) spent quite a bit of time there and I guarantee you there is no peace and harmony in that region that some of the press is implying. The source of the chaos is not the U.S. but Iran and other terrorist groups.
  18. Do you not think ISIS or other terrorist organizations would try to overthrow the government as happened when Obama pulled our troops out before? I’m interested in your thoughts.
  19. I can only address his definition of economic security. He believed Iraq shouldn’t be only dependent on oil revenues, that their revenues needed to be more diverse due to Iraq’s ability to be more diversified. Iraq has huge underground mineral assets. I recall reading an article years ago that Iraq could be richer than Dubai IF their mineral deposits were managed properly. Political security? He may have been dreaming. 😔😊
  20. He is one of several who asked the U.S. to stay. Is he becoming someone’s puppet? However, one can’t believe all the news in Iraq as one can’t believe all the news in the U.S.
  21. I am a “believer” in Shabibi even though he is dead. Saleh, who is an adviser to the PM was the Assistant Governor of the CBI under Shabibi and I just don’t believe he has abandoned Shabibi’s philosophy. A couple of the requirements for the RV, according to Shabibi, were political and economic security. I don’t see that at this time. All my opinion of course. I WANT the increase of the Dinar value RIGHT NOW! But my wants don’t change one darn thing. It’s not going to happen until several entities decide it’s the right time and I will never believe any news article will give us a clue when it is going to happen. Tar and feather me if you will, but these are my thoughts and I’ve been in this since 2010.
  22. A voice of reason. The coalition forces must stay in Iraq and the area for stability in the area, in fact, the entire Middle East.
