  1. This is frustrating and heart wrenching to know that our politicians are so bought off to power and greed, that they care not for their fellow country. The largest charities involved, are they so blinded by charity... are they really helping enforce the laws of the land, as well as their Christian morals (before accepting these refugees). I understand being charitable, compassionate towards mankind, my concerns, are these charities accepting these refugees because of the dollar signs $$$ waved in their faces and not for the security of our nation. If its the latter, anything done with money in the form of evil will backfire. Are they shunning the happenings that are happening to Christians around the world. Christians are savagely being murdered. The terrorist that filter in with these refugees are bloodthirsty, inhuman, cruel, extremely vicious and more. I pray for our Shepherd's, to hear the word of God and to be weary of what money can by. Thanks Whatshername for bringing this over. I recommend everyone let their voices be heard. Contact your representatives ASAP!!! As well as your Christian organizations.

  2. And so it begins. Middle East "refugees" have filed a suit against Germany, for not giving them their free life, fast enough! They've been there ONE WHOLE WEEK, and don't even have a free smartphone to show for it. Can you believe the audacity? Already German police can't enter the camps to rescue the women being raped unless they are in force. School girls have been attacked and raped, so now they are instructed to wear long dresses, no cleavage, and don't go near the camps, even if the camp is right next door to their home! When I think about the 200,000 that are coming here it's enough to make me want to puke. All I can say is, Lock and Load my friends, lock and load.....DM

  4. Find out what's going on in your community with 'refugee resettlement' By Carol Brown Muslim invaders are arriving in cities and towns across America, with many more to come. Perhaps you’ve seen your town transformed. If not, you soon may. It’s call “refugee resettlement” which is code for transplanting entire communities from hellholes in the Middle East to once beautiful towns and neighborhoods across America. There are many things we all need to know to ward off this systematic destruction of our communities, and indeed our country. Below you will find vital information, including ways to take action. First I will explain some of the factors that impact how invaders wind up where they do. Preferred Communities Program (PCP): This program targets small towns and rural areas for refugee resettlement. The rationalization is that these settings are best suited to attend to the myriad needs of refugees as compared to large cities, and that smaller communities are more welcoming to refugees. PCP collaborates with the Office of Refugee Resettlement and partner agencies to identify communities they deem most ideal for refugee resettlement. Here’s the deal: Small towns and rural communities often have easy access to public assistance programs. That’s it. It’s all about where to get free money and services. (That’s how you wind up with pockets of Somalis in places like Wyoming.) Meanwhile, conservative areas of the country are being targeted, helping to turn red states to blue. For additional information on PCP, including lists of designated “preferred communities,” see here and here. Welcoming Communities: These communities fall under the umbrella of “Welcoming America,” an organization devoted to refugee support. See their mission statement: “Welcoming America inspires people to build a different kind of community– one that embraces immigrants and fosters opportunity for all. We are leading a movement of inclusive communities across the nation becoming more prosperous by making everyone who lives there feel like they belong.” The vision for this organization is about importing increasing numbers of migrants under the banner of diversity, inclusion, and prosperity -- a trio of politically correct buzzwords that appeal to the brainwashed masses. The “different kind of community” to which they refer is part of the fundamental transformation. (As I wrote about in a recent blog, Boise, Idaho, is a “welcoming community.”) Wilson-Fish (WF): This program shifts control and decision-making power from the states to the federal government on issues pertaining to refugee resettlement and the provision of public and private services to refugees. There are currently 13 WF states: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Vermont. San Diego County, CA, is also a designated WF region. As you will notice, the majority of these states are red states. What’s up with their governors? We need to educate them. (WF is one reason why Idaho, of all places, is a hot spot for Muslim conquest.) If you live in a WF state, lobbying against refugee resettlement will be a bit more complex since your governor does not have direct authority to make decisions on this issue. In order to do so, he or she would first need to change the status of the state so it was no longer a WF state. To learn more about WF see here. Charities, Corporations, and the Chamber of Commerce: There is money to be made off of invaders in the form of cheap labor for business and large grants for charities. Many of the organizations reaping these benefits are integrally involved in the programs discussed above. It is crucial to find out who the corporate and non-profit players are in your community so you can apply pressure on them to cease and desist. There are many more individuals (like George Soros) and organizations (like the Partnership for a New American Economy) that are advocating for this invasion, but those noted above are some of the big ones. So who is trying to stop this and how can we take action? See below for a few ideas. Refugee Resettlement Watch: Ann Corcoran is the founder of Refugee Resettlement Watch. She is a force of one -- a private citizen who became curious, educated herself, and formed an amazing organization that is on the front lines of this battle of the ages. She serves as an example for us all of what an individual can (and must) do to protect our families and communities. This excerpt from the “About” section summarizes how the organization came into being. As you will read at the end, Corcoran makes herself available to speak with concerned citizens about refugees being settled in their communities. (A 4-min video that offers a succinct summary of who she is and what she’s doing can also be found here.) " Eight years ago it came to our attention in Washington County MD that a non-profit group (Virginia Council of Churches) had been bringing refugees into the city of Hagerstown (county seat) for a couple of years. Some problems arose and citizens started to take an interest and ask questions about how this federal program works. Our local paper had no interest in finding the facts, so we decided to find them ourselves. One of the many startling things we found out about this very quiet effort is that these non-profit groups bring to the US on average each year 15,000 (FY90-FY03) Muslim refugees from the Middle East, Africa, the Balkans, etc, almost completely funded by the US Government through grants and contracts to these non-government agencies…. Although we all have sympathy for persecuted and suffering people there are real questions to be answered about the wisdom of this policy. It turns out that there are hotbeds of this refugee resettlement controversy throughout the US. We have identified some of those. Because the issue is much more complicated than we initially realized, we have set up this online community organizing center at https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/. If you have information or questions from your communities about Refugee Resettlement please get in touch with Ann Corcoran at [email protected]<script data-cfhash='f9e31' type="text/javascript"> /* */</script>. " ACT for America: Brigitte Gabriel, the founder and CEO of ACT, is another force of nature. ACT for America is currently implementing a citizen action campaign to apply pressure on mayors who are eager to import refugees into their communities, including mayors in charge of cities in the following 14 states: CA, CT, GA, IL, MA, MO, MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, and RI. ACT for America has a web form citizens can use to send letters to the mayors currently under scrutiny, here. ACT for America has chapters throughout the United States. I would urge AT readers to join if you are not already a member. (Act for America is one among many organizations doing exceptional work. They need our support and involvement.) For those not familiar with Gabriel’s heroic work, or for those who could use a bit of inspiration, here are two videos of her speaking at the Values Voters Summit (this year and last year). You will not regret time spent listening to her. Videos of Gabriel’s speeches and interviews deserve to be distributed far and wide. Maps and Contact Lists This is a list of members of Congress who are pressuring Obama to speed up screening of Syrian refugees so they can be imported more quickly. This is where you can find information about elected officials and businessmen who support the Partnership for a New American Economy (an organization that peddles the idea that immigration helps our economy). This is information about legislation proposed by Congressman Brian Babin (TX-R) to suspend Obama’s plan to import hundreds of thousands of Muslim invaders. (For more information see here, here, and here.) This is a list of refugee resettlement contacts by state. It is a resource to find out what’s going on in your state, including plans for admitting more refugees. (The list is from 2014, so it is not absolutely current.) This is a list of charities that are integrally involved in refugee resettlement by state. (Additional lists can be found here and here.) This is a list of “preferred communities.” This map shows the locations of “welcoming communities.” This map shows where there are concentrations of programs and services for refugees. These maps show states with high concentrations of refugees, high concentrations of mosques, and hot spots for terror activity. (And of course it all correlates.) Take Action Many (most?) of us feel tired, hopeless, and cynical -- saddened and enraged that our voices seem to fall on deaf ears. But we cannot use this as a reason to stop speaking out in any and all ways possible. How can we walk away from a brave legacy of Americans fighting against all odds? How can we ignore the human history of movements that pushed back against tyranny and evil -- battles that were long and arduous? We are 1500 years into this battle. Each of us must do our part. Join organizations working to block the wholesale importation of Muslims who will destroy America from within. Support elected officials and/or candidates who are on the right path. Contact elected officials who are taking us down the wrong road, even if you think your voice won’t matter. Maybe it won’t. But maybe we are in a moment in time that is a small building block of something larger to come. I have no idea. How can we not try without relent? Don’t hope or assume someone else will pick up the torch. Even if someone else does and even if we do, as well, there are still not enough of us. Let’s change that. We are foot soldiers without a leader. But soldier on, we must. Hat tips: Allen West, Refugee Resettlement Watch, Atlas Shrugs, Counterjihad Report

  12. Panel debate from Toronto's Fall Mining Showcase... SOME $2 trillion is being invested worldwide by private equity funds every year, with a chunk of that destined for junior mining companies. Demand is as strong as or stronger than ever as investors see a shopping opportunity. Who is deciding where it goes and based on what criteria? At the annual Fall Mining Showcase event in Toronto this year, Red Cloud Mining Capital enlisted the help of three private equity panelists to answer those burning questions – Cheryl Brandon, a partner at Waterton Global Resource Management; Dan Wilton, a partner at Pacific Road Capital Management; and David Thomas, managing director of Resource Capital Funds, brought their insight. This spirited debate – here edited and first published by The Gold Report – was moderated by Anthony Vaccaro, publisher of The Northern Miner, Anthony Vaccaro: A few years ago, there was a perception that private equity was going to come in and wash away the junior sector's worries about insufficient capital. Was that perception misplaced? Dan Wilton: The perception was somewhat misplaced. I think people saw big numbers being raised, $2, $3, $4 billion by people like Mick Davis, but that's very different from what we do. You need to understand our investors to understand how we invest. It's a different investor base than you would find in a traditional mining resource fund. Our investors tend to be big US pension funds or university endowments – not retail investors. They commit money to us for 10 years, and they're patient. Unless the fund has a specific mandate to go out and fund exploration – and few of the private equity funds do – there tends to be a bias toward later-stage asset development. Funds like ours are not investing in a portfolio, they're looking to buy an asset and grow a company. The pool of traditional mining-focused private equity is smaller than people know. It tends to be focused more on later-stage opportunities because that's where you can deploy larger amounts of capital. It's difficult for us to put money out in $1, $2, and $3 million increments when you have a $475m fund to invest. When you're looking to put it into six or seven assets, those numbers get fairly large. And if you're a $6 or $7m market-cap company and someone offers you $20m, you'd be amazed at the resistance. People don't want to take the dilution at these levels, but at some point you have to have a supportive partner. It's a viable strategy, but most companies don't want to sacrifice the option value. Anthony Vaccaro: There is also a perception that private equity firms can sometimes be ruthless. Is that fair? David Thomas: It's important to make the distinction between what Cheryl's, Dan's and our funds do versus the big private equity generalists. We're a sector fund, with a "niche-y" investor base, which happens to be the same as Dan and Cheryl's investor base. Sector funds would be more akin to a venture capital fund. The bad guys, if you will, would be the bigger, leveraged buyout funds. Because of the inherently risky nature of the mining sector, you really don't want to multiply those risks by layering in financial risk, so Resource Capital Funds (RCF) does not use any leverage when it's making investments. Anthony Vaccaro: What are some of the advantages that mining companies would garner from working with a private equity firm? Cheryl Brandon: The mining sector in general has been very retail investor-based or institutional resource-focused investment funds, not private equity. As a result, most of the projects are long-dated, meaning long-term capital. That's one thing that our groups bring to the table – long-term capital. Our fund lives are 10 years. All the funds here have large technical groups internally, so we really understand the risks associated with the underlying projects, and we underwrite as such. When we are putting an investment into a company we say, "Okay, if the company needs X and they want to do Y, let's come up with a fully financed plan to create value, so that when the market turns, not only will the company have a strong, supportive partner, it will also have a project that's much more advanced." That's the way we look at it. Back to Dan's point about dilution, a lot of the companies we speak with don't want to take the dilution at these levels. However, when the commodity cycle turns, having a strong partner and a project that's further along the development curve will benefit shareholders. We all do different types of structures and financings – joint ventures, asset purchases, equity investments and structured financing. The advantages are different for each structure. Anthony Vaccaro: Dan, what kind of risk profiles are you looking at? How do you distinguish between later-stage projects? Dan Wilton: There's no shortage of risk in this business, so a big part of our due diligence process is about understanding those geological, metallurgical, operating, jurisdictional and financial risks. It's a risk/return business. When we see a risk that we can mitigate, that becomes part of the funding plan. But our return expectations are higher for something that has risks we can't control. For example, we have an investment in Kenya, which is a challenging place to do business, so our return expectations are higher than they would be for a gold project outside of Val-d'Or, Quebec, where you don't have the same inherent risks. Private equity groups have a pretty high tolerance for risk. We're in a risk-seeking business. We have to take risks to earn upside returns, but I think we have a better understanding of a lot of the risks that mining companies face. We have a portfolio of 12 or 15 investments right now and we would tell you that a lot of people running companies don't have the full appreciation of (the risks) because they don't necessarily have the benefit of the experience of a diversified view on a whole range of projects. Cheryl Brandon: With a structured-lending investment, we typically don't take board seats. Essentially, we get an operating report from the company every quarter that says how the company is advancing the project. Most of the joint ventures we've done haven't been as the operator, so we allow the company to operate the asset and have a management committee, of which we make up a portion and the public company makes up a portion. The annual budget determined at the beginning of the year says: "This is what we're going to accomplish and this is what we're going to spend." We fund a pro rata portion of that budget. As an equity investor, we recently made a 19.99% equity investment in a public junior with a project in Nevada. We have one board seat on a six-seat board and another on the three-member technical committee. As it relates to corporate decisions, it's ultimately what's best for shareholders. All the private equity funds here invest using different structures, which I think is an advantage because we can help shape the investment for what the company needs. Anthony Vaccaro: Tell us about accountability and how that works. Dan Wilton: In situations where we're a 25%, 35%, 40% shareholder, a lot of management teams find it quite different managing a company where you have one shareholder who really cares. We like to think that we can bring something to the table, whether it's best practice, free advice or getting some good technical people in our network to help. One of the single biggest differences between having a diversified shareholder registry and one large shareholder that is really vested in your success, is that with that large shareholder comes a significant degree of accountability. The reality is management teams should always be accountable to the smallest shareholder, that's their fiduciary duty. But it takes on a different meaning when that shareholder or a couple of shareholders are 80% of your shareholders. The people who really prosper with private equity see it as positive. It removes a lot of the uncertainty because we generally don't care about week-to-week. We care about getting good technical work done, de-risking a project and unlocking the fundamental value of those resources. If that means shutting down an operating mine for a period of time if that is the right thing to do, it doesn't bother us. We like to think it's a real positive, but there is only a limited subset of people running public companies who see it that way. Anthony Vaccaro: How does your group deal with tension when it happens? Dan Wilton: It depends on the situation. We have a number of investments where we're 20% shareholders with a board seat. Frankly, we have found that to be pretty ineffective because you don't have sufficient influence to execute change. It comes down to boardroom dynamics. When you're a majority shareholder, you can speak with a more direct voice. We had one investment where the management team told us they were interested in having a supportive, long-term investor, but the reality was that they weren't. The choice was to sell the stock or change the management team. It can go in either direction. Generally, if we're not happy, most of the other shareholders aren't happy either. Anthony Vaccaro: Thank you all for your insights

  13. I 'll be dead in 20 years, but feel we need to know this - If not for us, but for our children. FOR THIS TO COME TO PASS , ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS NOTHING This was written by a woman born in Egypt as a Muslim.. Make sure you read the paragraph (in red) towards the end. Joys of Muslim WomenBy Nonie Darwish In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child. Consummating the marriage by 9. The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy. Even though a woman is abused she cannot obtain a divorce. To prove rape, the woman must have (4) male witnesses. Often after a woman has been raped, she is returned to her family and the family must return the dowry. The family has the right to execute her (an honor killing) to restore the honor of the family. Husbands can beat their wives 'at will' and he does not have to say why he has beaten her. The husband is permitted to have (4 wives) and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion. The Sharia Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman. In the Western World ( Canada, Australia, United States and Britain ) Muslim men are starting to demand Sharia Law so the wife cannot obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her. It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American, Canadian, Universities and British Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Sharia law. By passing this on, enlightened Canadian, Australians, American and British women may avoid becoming a slave under Sharia Law. Ripping the West in Two. Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Sharia law on the world, ripping Western law and liberty in two. She recently authored the book, "Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law". Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before immigrating to America in 1978, when she was eight years old. Her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel . He was a high-ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza ....... When he died, he was considered a "shahid," a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society.. But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing.. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television. In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping sharia law - what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries. For the West, she says radical Islamists are working to impose sharia on the world. If that happens, Western civilization will be destroyed. Westerners generally assume all religions encourage a respect for the dignity of each individual.. Islamic law (Sharia) teaches that non-Muslims should be subjugated or killed in this world. Peace and prosperity for one's children is not as important as assuring that Islamic law rules everywhere in the Middle East and eventually in the world. While Westerners tend to think that all religions encourage some form of the golden rule, Sharia teaches two systems of ethics - one for Muslims and another for non-Muslims. Building on tribal practices of the seventh century, Sharia encourages the side of humanity that wants to take from and subjugate others.. While Westerners tend to think in terms of religious people developing a personal understanding of and relationship with God, Sharia advocates executing people who ask difficult questions that could be interpreted as criticism It's hard to imagine, that in this day and age, Islamic scholars agree that those who criticize Islam or choose to stop being Muslim should be executed. Sadly, while talk of an Islamic reformation is common and even assumed by many in the West, such murmurings in the Middle East are silenced through intimidation. While Westerners are accustomed to an increase in religious tolerance over time, Darwish explains how petro dollars are being used to grow an extremely intolerant form of political Islam in her native Egypt and elsewhere. (In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in Canada, Australia, the U.S. And Britain To elect the heads of Government by themselves! Rest assured they will do so... You can look at how they have taken over several towns in the USA .. Dearborn Mich. Is one and there are others....) (Britain has several cities now totally controlled by Muslims) I think everyone in Canada, Australia, the U.S. And Great Britain Should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! It is too bad that so many are disillusioned with life and Christianity to accept Muslims as peaceful.. Some may be but they have an army that is willing to shed blood in the name of Islam.. The peaceful, support the warriors with their finances, and own kind of patriotism to their religion. While Canada, Australia, the U.S.A. and Britain are getting rid of Christianity from all public sites and erasing God from the lives of children, the Muslims are planning a great jihad on North America, Australia and Britain ........ This is your chance to make a difference...! Pass it on to your email list or at least to those you think will listen..

  15. Revelation 20 (NKJV) Satan Bound 1,000 Years20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while. The Saints Reign with Christ 1,000 Years4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Satanic Rebellion Crushed7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. The Great White Throne Judgment11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

  21. Modern (Adam ) man can be traced back by biblical genealogy to around 4,000bc. There is enormous debate of the earth's age before that . Some hold to a young earth and some (like myself) hold to an ancient earth. The creative days in Genesis chapter one can represent creative "periods" of God, and may represent millions of years each. God is timeless. Only in the creation of man, did God start a "timeline". Eternity is not time or space, it is a dimension of God Almighty. We will never be able to understand this in our limited human capabilities

That is because criminals will understand in short order that the good guys carry guns also. And once that happens we can all get back to loving each other and worshiping our God. Or would we rather argue about stupid things, and murdering our children? The real question here is what kind of country do you want to have? Once you begin to answer that question then you will see to it that every single politician going against the Constitution of the United States of America be removed from office in due course. Because the Constitution of the United States of America is not a growing document, the Constitution of the United States of America is not evolving. The Constitution of the United States of America is what it is, and that cannot be changed no matter what. Just because you say the sky is purple doesn't make it purple.

Just the other day "australia" who are us allies refused to take part in what obummer is doing in the south China sea..... More and more will follow suit. The US is not the super power it once was and has been caught out and exposed to the world. Even the fact that he is not only supporting terrorism but exporting it to every country he has interest in. It's crazy, US foreign policy is going to leave the US in a very lonely position.

  35. Great article SD ! I would think that is time for Bagdad to to put pressure on the Kurds to get the HCL completed. Money greases the wheels, and that pays the government salaries , that keeps the peace and security. If I was Abadi I would tell the Kurds that Bagdad and the U.S. Will send support as soon as the HCL is done.

  36. Boeing b-29 does fly by tulsa http://www.newson6.com/story/30081397/boeing-b-29-does-flyby-near-downtown-tulsa TULSA, Oklahoma - The only Boeing B-29 Superfortress in flying condition made a pass near downtown Tulsa on Monday. "FiFi" was on its way to Davis Field in Muskogee for a three-day stay when it made a pass just to the west of downtown Tulsa at about 3 p.m. 9/17/2015: Related Story: Boeing B-29 Bomber Coming To Muskogee FiFi and several other warbirds will be in Muskogee until Wednesday, September 23, 2015 as part of the Commemorative Air Force's AirPower History Tour. The group will be selling rides in all of the aircraft on the tour. Learn more about the AirPower History Tour FiFi has quite a history. She was built in 1945, too late to see service in World War II. She was put into storage in the desert, but was returned to active service in 1953. The Commemorative Air Force bought her in the early 1970s. She'd been used as a missile target at the U.S. Navy Proving Ground at China Lake, California since 1958. The CAF flew her for 30 years until a four-year restoration which ended in 2010. When Osage SkyNews 6 pilot Will Kavanagh heard she was headed from Kansas to Muskogee on Monday, September 21, 2015, he asked the crew to change its course and head toward Tulsa. The crew obliged, providing Will and his photojournalist with a perfect in-flight photo opportunity. Video is pretty cool too!!

  40. Yeah, Divemaster... show some respect! Shabs is a left-leaning, humor-driven contrarian BUT he's OUR left-leaning, humor-driven contrarian... and we like him! My advice: Lower your expectations and look for the humor, not the substance.

  41. Obviously I share your frustration Dive. But after all was said and done Shabs did admit to agreeing with the article, so at least we are all on the same side this time. It’s just that some are more passionate than others. And for what it’s worth, I always put both seats down just because I do not want anything to accidently fall in the toilet.

  42. As a matter of fact, I made a deal. Told her I wouldn't get upset if she forgot to put the seat BACK UP, which is exactly where I want it, as long as she quit her whining about me not putting it down for her. Fair is fair.

  43. Sorry Shabs, the statement is correct. Bern is a social….errr independent, not a Democrat. And if that is all it takes for you to dismiss the entire article as media deception that is a pretty sad commentary on your part. I guess since the article is nothing but media deception in your mind, and because Sanders is not included in a poll then America must be happy with the shenanigans of the Washington elite?

  46. 09/20/15 Iran's surprising currency drop casts suspicion on government By Hamid Mafi, Radio Zamaneh The Iranian currency market is in shock with the value of the national currency once again falling against foreign currencies and the dollar trading 150 toumans higher, despite expectations that the prospect of the nuclear agreement would strengthen the touman. Currency Market (cartoon by Javad Takjou, Iranian daily Etemaad) The fall in the value of the national currency is significant because in the past two years the government has consistently tied the economic recovery to the nuclear negotiations and reaching a deal. Now, two months after the announcement of a deal with a flurry of foreign trade missions to Iran and the easing of certain financial and economic restrictions, the public expected a rise in the value of the national currency and a fall in the price of goods and services. While the government says the increase in the price of the dollar is temporary and insists that it will once again resume its downward climb, government critics accuse it of "manipulating the dollar to remedy their budget shortfall". While economic minister Ali Tayyebnia has been predicting that the government will have no budget shortfall, reports from the Rohani administration and its economic advisors speak of budget restrictions. According to Mohammad Ali Najafi, economic adviser to the president and secretary of the cabinet coordination committee, this could be one of the worst years in terms of budget shortfall. He has been quoted as saying that due to the fall in oil prices, the government may face a deficit of 55 trillion toumans. A Profit-driven Government In addition to the falling oil prices, Iran's non-petroleum exports have also declined in the past five months. According to Iranian Customs, the volume and value of non-oil and semi-oil exports in the first five months of the year have decreased by seven and 16 percent respectively. Meanwhile, it was predicted that the government would inject into the national economy over $100 billion in assets released from foreign banks following the nuclear deal; however, the government is now saying the assets are closer to $30 billion. Therefore, the general expectations about the market have not been fulfilled. In this situation, one of the easiest ways to remedy the budget shortfall is to derive some revenue from the difference between the state price and the market price of the dollar. This strategy has been noted by the head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Massoud Khansari, who was quoted as saying: "The government is manipulating the price of the dollar; the market is no longer determining the price of the dollar." He confirmed that the government's manipulations are aimed at compensating for its budget deficit. On top of the government's manipulations, continued economic stagnation and the lack of activity in other sectors is driving up demand for buying the dollar as a capital good. In contrast, experts were predicting a fall in the price of the dollar and movement in the real estate and auto markets, but a persistent recession and concerns about the budget shortfall and inflation that's back on the rise are driving the public to invest its money in foreign currencies. Promises from government officials that next year's budget will have a single exchange rate for the dollar instead of the current two rates indicate that the rate of exchange for the dollar is not likely to go down. According to this theory, the wandering assets in the market will find their way to the currency market and stimulate demand for the dollar. Although the rising foreign exchange rate may accomplish the government's goal of fixing its budget shortfall, the rising dollar will increase the price of imports and manufactured goods, which leaves the Iranian people paying more for goods and services and suffering an overall decline in their purchasing power. ...
