This Day in History=> Republican Grant Defeats Pro-Slavery Racist Democrat Seymour …(Some Things Never Change)

It is well known that the Democratic Party is in the party of the Ku Klux Klan… and the Party of Jim Crow… and the Party of the Confederacy… and the Party of Slavery.

On this day, November 3, 1868, Republican Ulysses Grant defeated Democrat Horatio Seymour in presidential election.

Democrat Seymour had denounced Emancipation Proclamation and was pro-slavery.

Seymour’s campaign was marked by pronounced appeals to racismwith repeated attempts to brand General Grant as the “*****r” candidate and Seymour as the “White Man’s” candidate.

Some things never change.
