skeetdog 6,486 Posted October 18, 2016 Report Share Thanks Synopsis...Never understood the reasoning behind the 50,000 dinar bill...I originally figured it was going to be for banking/commercial purposes 'only' to fight counterfeiting... but I was quickly informed other wise by our knowledgeable DV community...I thought the 50,000 dinar availability.... kind of like the 1,000 USD notes and supposedly a 5,000 USD note...would make them impossible to counterfeit because of their practicality of use on a daily basis...I've not ever seen either the US 1,000 or the US 5,000 notes and understand that the United States larges notes are for banking/commercial use only..... Synopsis 29,050 Posted October 18, 2016 Report Share Thanks Skeetdog! These notes appear to have a high degree and varied means of applied technology to subvert counterfeiting. Under the black light, there are about 3 millimeter long narrow and slightly curved bright and light greenish random lines for what appears to be "Spark technology." Held to the light, there is also the imbedded horse head that can be seen from both the front (left side) and rear (right side). There is also the spiral tower in a translucent window in the fairly wide metallic thread. I thought these counterfeiting measures are pretty cool and Iraq likely would not go to those measures to prevent counterfeiting unless they were going to be used for something very significant. I do agree so also, but this would mean the value would not change. Quote Link to comment
